There is a certain number of folks who have converted to Islam since 9-11 simply because they have seen the sheer level of fear and respect that Islam gets from politicians and the media, and how everyone walks on eggshells around them. To lonely, disaffected people, having that kind of aura of power around you is a very tempting drug. Let’s face facts - people want to be on the winning team, and these days, Islam *IS* the winning team.
