Hi! I live in Port Saint Lucie Florida, but travel to the Coral Springs & other South Florida areas on a very regular basis.
My wife is always looking to stop at a good place to eat :) not to mention the kids.

A lot of news sites throw links between paragraphs of the articles. Guess the OP forgot to cut it out.

Germithe Geffrard, 23, was charged...

Hmm... I wonder about that name...

I wonder also. Is this someone from east Europe working here on a temp visa?

We have been sorting out multiple id thefts of my 93-year-old WWII veteran father. It has been a nightmare. There are obviously websites where the information is sold to others, as we have seen the gamut from simple opening of new credit cards to auto withdrawals from his checking account, and most recenting he is being victimized thru the electronic filing of an income tax return in his name, when he had not even finished his return.

Same thing with my World War II vet father, except for the bank accounts.

You can get them from any vendor of retail systems and a lot of computer stores. The simplest ones are magnetic stripe readers that behave as though the user was typing the data from the stripe. I had to familiarize myself with them for a project I worked on in the mid-1990s to enable health care providers to read swipe health cards and transfer the contents to a database. The part of the early testing I enjoyed most was swiping all of my boss’s credit cards into a text file.

No, Germithe is not Austrian, as you suspected. Amish.

So they have a legitimate use. It’s too bad people are misusing it to steal.

I’m with you 100% on ID thieves getting life and there should be no parole.

If they gained access to the bank accounts then at least one of the following took place:

1. The legit user had spyware on his PC when he accessed his account online.

2. They found a cheque for the account and used the routing codes to set up a bogus debit.

In either scenario the best course of action is to clean the computer and install a good anti-virus app (AVG is good and it’s free), then get a new bank account number and card, and set a new password for online banking.

True. It has always been the case that anything useful for good things can also be used for bad things.

I do that also. If a charge appears that I don't recognize, I'm on it like flies on a rib roast.

Sometimes it's from a book I ordered from Amazon that has a kooky business name. But I'm really careful.

Wings Plus? I would be willing to drive that far for good wings. Seems like all of the good wings place in our neck of the woods have closed or changed and aren’t any good anymore. I can’t recall if we’ve eaten at a Wings Plus before (the name rings a bell). Is this a chain/franchise?

I agree it should be taken very very seriously. The havoc it plays in someone’s life is hard for someone to fathom.

They’re known as the longest running TEA party in Broward. They are on the corner of Oakland Pk Blvd. and Federal Hwy every Sat. They started in 2/09.

It is a Private Owned restaurant that has several branches in the Broward Area, The Owner Brain is very conservative and was once a Piper for the Police. There is a big framed bagpipe on the wall in the Coral Springs Restaurant on Sample Road.

There was one closer to my home in Margate, which was visited by George W Bush back in the day.
