Dear Livius:
You’re wrong. The only way the GOP could lose is if they don’t vote. I’ll bet a majority of Democrats with common sense (oximoron) will not vote for Obama.
No matter what they’re saying, the Dems and all blacks (who get at least 3 votes for every GOP vote because of their corrupt districts) will vote for Bambi - and so will a lot of GOPers, since Romney’s positions are little different and apparently in that case voters always go for the most likeable candidate.
I find Obama detestable, but he gets very high likeability ratings across the board, so I guess I’m the exception. Romney gets very low likeability ratings, and has nothing to distinguish him from Obama except being a member of a different non-Christian religion, so I’d say on the whole Obama is going to win. By a landslide, incidentally.
Our only hope is that Ron Paul can get us to a brokered convention and to a new candidate.
I’m not an RP voter, and I think Gingrich would have won if Ron Paul had not dragged off a section of the younger, more radical voters. That group always goes for extremes, but they might have been persuaded by Gingrich’s new ideas even though his ideas weren’t irrational, if RP hadn’t been running.
However, if Ron Paul can get together enough clout to keep Romney from getting the nomination, I’d send him a contribution tomorrow. We will lose with Romney.
