"...the lawyer for Mr. bin Attash, Cheryl Borman — who wore traditional black Muslim garb, covering everything but her face — asked women on the prosecution team to consider dressing more modestly so that the defendants would not have to avoid looking at them “for fear of committing a sin under their faith.” The women were wearing military or civilian jackets and skirts."

And our government's official position remains--and has been since September 11th--that this has nothing to do with religion...good grief...

Was Ms Borman’s husband or father there as her chaperone?

Just so her clients wouldnt have to commit a religious sin by talking to an unrelated female

This court looked like a circus. These terrorist will play this court like the ACLU does. It wasn’t a pretty start and it will only get worse.

That attorney is an idiot. Any people who follow her request needs their head examined. Of course, the detainees would oblige examining the heads - in a sack near a bridge.

What would we do if any other defendants either in military or civilian US courts behaved this way? Do that.

“for fear of committing a sin under their faith.”

Objection! The hajib is not to be found in the koran and does not tell women to wear such a clownish get up.

Prayers up for those family members attending; how awful to have to watch this evil on display day after day.

Who cares if it’s time for them to pray; by allowing them the freedom to be muslim during this hearing, they are giving the finger to America.
They took away the victims ultimate freedom-life-and they shouldn’t even have the freedom to move, never mind whipping out a f*****g prayer rug! What an insult to those family members!

Sure. Don’t look at girls in tank tops (meaning she better cover it up; it’s her problem), and don’t sell land to Jooos!

Yes. Sins include looking at womens ankles, reading books, drawing Muhammad and showering.
Note,Murder, rape and pillaging are not sins. Neither is unlawful or un-natural contact with farm animals.

On the Military Channel on Friday night there was a program on the 8 Nazi saboteurs who were sent by Hitler to attack the United States in 1942. They were all caught fairly quickly, due to a combination of luck, vigilance by a Coast Guard sentry and betrayal in their own ranks. The point is, however, a decision was made to try them in a military tribunal expeditiously. Within months they were convicted and sentenced. 6 were put to death, 2 others were sent to prison. Compare the way we worked against our enemies back then to the ridiculous and absurd way our Justice Department and Defense Department have handled the cases of the terrorists that we have apprehended in the present war. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has been in custody since March 1st, 2003! It is now May 2012. We defeated Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan in MUCH less time than it has taken for us to put him on trial—and now that trial has started out like a Three Ring Circus.

Good. Let these animals act like they do — uncooperative, in your face, disrespectful, and unremorseful. Like a bunch of highly nasty unbehaved children.

Let Americans see it — and then maybe we’ll inch closer to the understanding of who these unrepentant Islamic monsters really are, and may think twice about allowing any more of them in this country.

“Defiant” is one of those media terms that arguably shows admiration if not approbation.

You will almost never see it applied to those on the “right”. You wont hear white supremacists or Mormon separatists or whatever called “defiant” but you will hear the term applied to Muslim terrorists or Occupy extremists, etc.

Demanding respect is one thing. Defining it is another thing entirely.
If you can’t stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen. If American fashion presents an occasion for sin, stay out of America.
