I know what the pay back is, but if you have the right lawyer he/she will take it, as it always takes 2-3 years to push through anyway. The key is you can’t work at all in that time frame. OR after unless you are doing like the illegals and do it under the table.
Our SS class kept that family fed and the house payments augmented, as his wife could work, just couldn’t make ends meet with 3 kids to raise. Unlike some as soon as he got his transplant and was pronounced able to return to work he did, but in a lesser job, but it still brought in income. So they are now back on their feet if only wobbly. He could have stayed on disability, but was to proud to do so.
I was in his shoes, only I had to start from square 1, multiple auto immunes, none fixable, can’t take the drugs, degenerated back from Hades and recently widowed. No education, no one wanted some one as sick as I was not even Wal-mart. While late hubby was a live it didn’t matter, we just lived within his earnings. Sudden massive heart attack out of the blue, and life changed. I could no longer take care of myself fiscally, what little ins we had got eaten by the burial and the 4 years it took to get the disability through. It is not great, but it kept me from the wolves door until GOD sent a very good Christian man into my path..now we both take care of each other as he too has some health issues but is retired over 65 Military so has both Medicare/Tricare Life which 0 has screwed up.
I know a guy in Johnson City, Tenn who got SS on the first application...bad back and heart. He got it about a year and a half ago. So, I thought it was because he did it before all the fraud started and they tightened up. He then told a guy he knows got it on the first application about 3 months ago. I’m starting to think it depends on the part of the country you’re in. The “judges” are different. And by the way, he was sent to a SS doctor for “examination”. His friend wasn’t. I’m CONVINCED that now they turn down most of the initiall applications.
I’m glad you hung on to your faith. God will always provide a way. A friend used to say “If you end up under a bridge it’s a bridge God provided.”
