“PS We got our “whacko human debris” from the East Coast, along with a large percentage of our legislators (other than the ones’ from Mexico).”

Birds of a feather. That place does attract them. They like to get to a place they are better loved and appreciated.

That’s pure crap! I grew up here in the 50’s and I can tell you that none of what’s happened with the “migration” of the socialists from the East Coast had happened and it was an unbelievably vibrant place! Unfortunately, in a free society, people can and do move about the country. There were no gays in SF, the city of my birth, until much later. They came, liked the weather, and settled in like the social termites that they are. Now, I don’t often even go to SF because I am offended by the people that now call it home. The problem with people like you is that you see everything without any gradation. Today, there is far more of California that is conservative than liberal, but like most places (even where you live I will venture), the big cities are full of what you call wackos all of whom are in search of the free lunch. Another thing that sunk California was the SCOTUS deciding that modeling your bicameral legislature after the FED was unconstitutional. Until that happened, our Senate helped to corral the nutballs. You do this country and FR a great disservice by your prattle about this state. If we fail, you are next! The people who go on and on on FR about “how lucky” they are to have left California, remind me of the Italian Army. “ You guys can fight the good fight, but I ‘m leaving because I don’t have the stomach for it.” There wouldn’t be an America today if we had had many of you guys on our side!

Well then, if that is truly the case, how do these insane laws come to pass? And overwhelmigly?

Sorry, but thou doth protest too much about the saneness of California.

I appreciate your love for your state. I believe that it was the influx of east coast leftists that ruined California. It was a far better place in the 1950’s, and even much better when I lived there for three years in the 1970’s than it is today.

Do you think that the MSM in California is much stronger than in the rest of the nation? I have spent some time in California in the last few years, and even in the central valley, the attitude seemed to be that the government could always do more for people, and that if the State government resources were not quite unlimited, then the federal government resources certainly were!

“Well then, if that is truly the case, how do these insane laws come to pass? And overwhelmigly? “

Because of “one man, one vote!” Los Angeles and San Francisco have enough population that they elect the majority nutballs. I mean the Pelosis, Finesteins, Boxers, and all manner of Marxists from the “minority communities.” Truly stupid, people who sell the “free lunch” to their “underprivileged” constituents. If you are from Pennsylvania, I don’t know how you could not understand this conundrum. PA is just like CA. If you prevented Philadelphia from voting, PA would probably be a Red state. Actually, in a perverse way, PA transplants (along with the rest of the Northeastern Seaboard) sent us the trash that is now causing our problems. That and WW II when the Fed Gov’t. opened up war materiel factories here. Richmond became a Black ghetto thanks to Kaiser Shipbuilding, and “Easterners” flocked to LA for the jobs in the aircraft manufacturing there. The came and brought with them their “ways,” and they liked it here so much that they stayed. They are like self-serving little termites. But the sad truth is that it’s more like California and PA everywhere than conservatives from those areas want to believe. We, COLLECTIVELY have a major problem and the gasbags here that revel in the idea of having California drop off into the Pacific Ocean are going to have the same problem in the not too distant future. So laying “blame” on California for a national problem is just ignorant and counterproductive. I can tell you that where I live, we are very sane! Finally, for what it’s worth, I am banking on California going broke. It’s the only way to start the process of rebuilding. Maybe that’s going to happen to Washington too, but since they can print money ( for a little while longer) we are probably going to be first.

I must admit I almost never watch the local TV news. The only thing I see when, on occasion, I do is that the smarmy minority news anchors are the same people who were there fifteen or twenty years ago, only now they are old and ugly. Same socialist bias tho. Actually, Dan Walters, the sycophant political editor at the Sacramento Bee, seems to be seeing the light about the coming collapse. I think deep down inside he knows Jerry the Fairy is a worthless turd who couldn’t take a bent dime out of a Coke machine. Now he’s beginning to talk about the crisis and how Brown is failing.
Some Freepers post stuff from the Bee, but what really yanks your crank is the moron state workers who respond to the Bee’s commentary on the sad state of affairs with public employees. But to your question, I don’t think the MSM is any worse here, and surely not any better. Like almost everywhere else, the government exists to meddle in your freedom and spend your hard earned money and the MSM is their shill. There is a move afoot to put a referendum on the ballot to return the legislature to part time. If things are worse down the road ( and you know they will be) something like that might just pass. I think it’s deplorable that our legislators are paid almost as much as those in the Congress, highest in the nation by about $50,000 per person per year!
