Are you an ABO like me PO'd at JR for getting called a RINO? Truce declared! Please DONATE!

Attention "Anyone But Obama" (ABO) FReepers! If you go to the thread at the link you will will see that JimRob has "declared a truce" and hundreds of ABO FReepers are now vigorously defending their belief, which I share, that the ineligible Marxist Manchurian MUST BE DEFEATED to preserve the Republic...without fear of "the ZOT"! Please consider a DONATION not just to fund renewal of expression and amplification of your ABO views, but let's over-achieve this FReepathon to get JR his new equipment!

IMO, Free Republic and FReepers could be vital in swing states in rallying just enough conservatives to tip the election and prevent our troops from having to salute for even one day longer than necessary an ineligible Marxist committed to destroying the USA !

I am happy enough to look at Romney - or Obama - and dislike him as a lying, conniving, scum sucking, cheating, backstabbing SOB who is in it purely for himself. His being a Mormon is none of my business.

EC, e'en tho you're a relative NOOB here (one year), surely you've seen enough threads referencing Obama as a closet Muslim. I saw five within a week of Easter.

Somehow, if all these religious liberties you mentioned in post #1,011 were at the heart of your convictions, then you'd apply them to Obama & the castigation of his supposed Muslim ties as well.

My guess would be you haven't gone into those threads to do that.
My guess would be you haven't made even a single effort to respond to critiquing any Muslim post tied to Obama, to utter: "His being a closet Muslim is none of my business."

Well, usually when someone starts off by calling people bigots who are spewing hatred, it sounds a bit shrill and angry.

Cleanup on aisle 3!

LOL. I gave away my XBox when Stella left and now I wish I had it.

Gonna have to get the new one since I’m going to lame for a few months.

McCarthy was right.

Right at what?

That SOME people were engaged in various subterfuges that results in some kind of deterioration & destruction?

(Well, hey, the cults do that...on a spiritual level)

Yet we don't ask Congress to either label cultists as "un-American" or establish committees toward that end...

No one is going to come to Christ via the brow beating that is visible here, if anything, the exact opposite will occur.

- - - - -
Wrong. That is how I got out of that damned cult and how many others have, including at least 3 freepers in the last 4 years alone.

And where in the Constitution does it say that someone can’t speak out against a religion?

Freedom of Religion goes both ways. There is nothing about being unmolested for your religious views. If you believe in a false Christ (like the one of Mormonism) the expect to be called on it.

I do Elsie. Unlike many, I don’t recall verses easily, so forgive any imprecision.

We are required to judge by actions. By words. But NOT what is in someones heart, for that is something we cannot know. Only God can.

Lay out Romney’s actions, since, lets face it, we are talking about him. Lay out his words. We can and most of us have judged him on those. Harshly.
Upthread, someone I like and respect very much (Mountain Mary) laid out all her problems with Romney and why she would not be voting for him.
That is fine. “By their fruits shall you know them” is very specific - you judge by what they do. Nothing else. And we still have to answer for our judging.

His relationship with God is NOT ours to judge and something we simply cannot tell, no matter what his religion is. (Ok, I got doubts about the godliness bit of any guy who does that to a dog, but that is just me. And I don’t even like dogs.)

Now frankly, looking at some of your posts recently, I am tempted to judge you. I shall not, because I may not, but the temptation is bad enough that it is going to land me a massive amount of penance tomorrow.
For all I know God is sitting in your chair typing your recent responses. I rather hope not though, because some of them really recant our Saviours message that God loves us all, regardless.

Go with God.

The bible thumping creeps here feel threatened by something they claim cannot touch them.

- - - -
The Morg can’t touch me, but it is other people I am worried about. People who don’t know their Bible, think the Mormons are spiritually harmless and those who are likely candidates to be lied to to the point of leading them from God.

I survived that cult and have been re-born in Christ Jesus that I may warn others.

... the brow beating that is visible here...

THE
DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS
OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS
SECTION 132
51–57, Emma Smith is counseled (commanded) to be faithful and true; 58–66, Laws governing the plurality of wives are set forth.
51 Verily, I say unto you: A commandment I give unto mine handmaid, Emma Smith, your wife, whom I have given unto you, that she stay herself and partake not of that which I commanded you to offer unto her; for I did it, saith the Lord, to aprove you all, as I did Abraham, and that I might require an offering at your hand, by covenant and sacrifice.
52 And let mine handmaid, Emma Smith, areceive all those that have been given unto my servant Joseph, and who are virtuous and pure before me; and those who are not pure, and have said they were pure, shall be destroyed, saith the Lord God.
53 For I am the Lord thy God, and ye shall obey my voice; and I give unto my servant Joseph that he shall be made ruler over many things; for he hath been afaithful over a few things, and from henceforth I will strengthen him.
54 And I command mine handmaid, Emma Smith, to abide and acleave unto my servant Joseph, and to none else. But if she will not abide this commandment she shall be bdestroyed, saith the Lord; for I am the Lord thy God, and will destroy her if she abide not in my law.
55 But if she will not abide this commandment, then shall my servant Joseph do all things for her, even as he hath said; and I will bless him and multiply him and give unto him an ahundredfold in this world, of fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, houses and lands, wives and children, and crowns of beternal lives in the eternal worlds.
56 And again, verily I say, let mine handmaid aforgive my servant Joseph his trespasses; and then shall she be forgiven her trespasses, wherein she has trespassed against me; and I, the Lord thy God, will bless her, and multiply her, and make her heart to brejoice.

Whatever HAPPENED to Emma???

Eliza was a devout Mormon.

At age 38, she became Joseph Smith's 14th plural wife (in addition to Smith's lawful wife, Emma).

In 1842, after learning Eliza was pregnant, Emma Smith beat Eliza with a broomstick and
knocked her down a flight of stairs, causing Eliza to miscarry Smith's baby.
Wow!!

I guess ol' Emma got VAPORIZED by GOD!!!

We know that multiply him thing sure didn't work out!

Good point, I was wondering why God would call on someone to be so rude.

Mark 7:26-27
 26.  The woman was a Greek, born in Syrian Phoenicia. She begged Jesus to drive the demon out of her daughter.
 27.  "First let the children eat all they want," he told her, "for it is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs."

As it stands at this exact moment, there are 1,065 thoughts here including my own.

You and you alone have final say.

No, you can have the final say all you want. I'll be leaving this worthless bigot infested thread right after this post.

And like I give a flip...you verbally threatened me too. Ha!! Great!!

I know you and the rest of the gaggle of harpies in this thread don't give a flip, and I would expect nothing else, and I didn't threaten you in any way, shape or form.

You have a job waiting for you....with Eric Holder.

Eric Holder can take a flying leap.

I'm glad you and EF are being exposed here.

The only thing exposed here is the bigotry eastforker spoke of. It is apparent, it is mind-boggling, it is absolutely disgusting, and that is all I have to say regarding this matter.

Not sports analogies that have no parallel with anything being said in the conversation. Sorry, Colo, but your post was bizarre and made no sense whatsoever. Even with your confused explanation, it's still pretty shaky...

You really can't be that up far Ignorant Cultural Creek out in Ohio boondocks-ville, can you?

OK...I'll hold your little hand so you can get a nursery-level "education" here:

#1 MojitoJoe said in Post #818: Elsie a little FANATICAL I would say.

(I hope you actually paid attention and didn't let you ADHD or whatever else disconnected you or distracted you take over here...so keep that word "fanatical" in the frontal portion of your lobe...it'll be handy as we trace this like a hand-trace for you)

#2 Elsie then responded in #852: Only a LITTLE? DAMN! I'm slipping!!!

#3 And then YOU responded to that post and apparently based upon what Elsie wrote -- you psycho-analyzed and spiritual-analyzed (also called "judging") a complete or almost complete stranger as engaging in "unChristlike...behavior."

#4 Based upon that word FAN -- and I've read enough etymological content to know that the word "fan" is derived from "fanatical," I used a sports analogy.

The fact that you and Buckleyfan -- and perhaps others on this thread -- can't comprehend this obvious connection doesn't say much for your basic cultural comprehensive level.

But, hey, that's "OK." Some posters are just culturally slower...and we need to exhibit patience. (Let me know if I need to start FREEPmailing you to get you up-to-speed on these types of things...always here to help)

Sorry, missed this reply. My apologies!

You are correct. I have not.

I have good and sufficient reason to totally detest Obama and everything he has said, done and initiated that his religion is completely irrelevant to me. I don’t care if the guy is supposedly a Muslim. Never bothered to check, and even so it would mean precisely nothing. Sorry, I look at the person, not the religion. I KNOW I don’t like Obama. read all of the Nachum list and yes, I have posted from time to time on Obama threads.
The birther stuff - well I was doubtful, but am slowly coming around thanks to the sheer mass of information coming out. You know - it is hard to believe that that huge a con job could be pulled on an entire nation - the essence of the big lie technique.

The Muslim stuff - I simply never cared. You have no religious test for holding office, so really - who gives a crap?
Same thing with Romney. Your GOP was dumb enough to chose him (I worked rather hard for Newt) but his religion is no more a bar to him being President than him being an avowed atheist would be. (OK, that was possibly a bad example on a conservative site ....)

On the week leading up to Easter I was reading the Catholic threads posted by the ever patient Salvation (not pinging her as this thread would make someone I really like cry) I didn’t see you there - does that mean you are godless?

My apologies again - I am going to have to cut short for an hour to do a skype call. (You think you got it bad, try working from the UK with the paymasters in LA. My body clock is always screwed up!)

Continue in an hour or so?

Have at it Elsie! ;)

Also interesting is when you go outside the Mormon and the Ex-Mormon sites and really get to those who look at LLDS from a political view as well as see it as a cooperation with land holdings etc. But then you know this.

Still it opens wide the doors the absolute false front of the religious aspect of LDS.....rather like Scientology...and other cults who put on the same front. And they all get into bizarre rituals and beliefs they use to fool public....until the mask is pulled down and revealed for what it is...and they are all about the money...and power they want to weld from their leadership.

BTW Romney has benefited nicely for being one of their leaders.

There's a difference between arrogant anger and being a disciple of Christ.

This is the third time you've used the word "arrogant" on this thread to describe others -- mostly a near-complete stranger (Elz). I'd say from my conversational experiences, in most cases, when somebody attributes arrogance to another they barely know, it requires attribution of motives...or what makes them inwardly tick.

Do you really claim to have that depth of knowledge...especially given verses like 1 Samuel 16:7?

7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

I recall a wise counselor long ago once writing -- using this verse -- as a caution vs. engaging in judgmentalism vs. inward motives of others.

I didn't 'single out' anything. I was talking about religious threads in general and their contentious, irrational anger devoid of critical thought and true spirituality.

There ya go again...outright accusing Elz of "anger" of an inward motivation spurring these posts. How do you know anger is the fuel? Are you some personal Holy Spirit here?

I DON'T GO THERE. I STICK WITH POLITICS HERE, I stick with politics here, and devote myself to ChI rist in His Holy Word and in prayer, the fellowship of Believers and ministry.

Well, your alleged "sticking with politics" claim must occur somewhere between all the brow-beating of Elsie you've done on this thread...Let's see now, you've set a "Christlike example" for us by labeling Elz as:

* A rapist. A pillager ("You're raping and pillaging" post #877)
* Questioning/judging Elz' behavior as 'Christ-like' ("Is this behavior that you believe is Christ-like?" (#875)
* Engaging in an "emotional rampage" ("I had no delusions that speaking the truth in love would stop your emotional rampage") (#909)
* Engaging in arrogance/anger-motivated brow-beating ("You confuse angry, brow-beating, and arrogant sarcasm, (on colorful display on this thread) with 'defending the faith.'") (#989)
* And more of the same here: "Go back and reread the mockery, sarcasm, anger, arrogant belittling of others and emotional lack of control in your posts." (#1014)

So...we can take from these series of posts that you were trying to...
...edify Elz, perhaps...not belittle????
...gently show concern to a sibling in Christ...not brow-beat?
...psycho-analyze near complete-strangers (you've referenced the "emotions" of others three times now!)...and WHY do you FEEL they need that imposition again?
...and repeatedly spiritually judge the inward motivations & outward behavior...

And this is ALL under the umbrella of not going there...stick-to-politics discussion????

(There's not two of you posting under the same sitename is there, perchance?)

Go back and reread the mockery, sarcasm, anger, arrogant belittling of others and emotional lack of control in your posts, Elsie.

YOU made the ACCUSATION; so it's up to YOU to show the evidence.

I don’t.

But I have no problem with teasing someone who I know will take it as teasing.

Peace, Brother. May God show us both the sin that still remains in us and turns us away from doing His will and reflecting His love and grace.

I am not worried about my sin; as that's covered.

I doubt if any rational person expects to EVER speak to someone withOUT sin; until they get to say 'Lord - Lord' face to face with Jesus

The 'sin' of the heresy of MORMONism is not a blot on AMERICA, yet the NON-judgemental folks on FR seem to want to protect it.

I find that behavior a bit, shall we say, bizarre.

Then why are you complaining for us doing the same thing?

The chains that hold Mormons hostage in that cult are dark and powerful and demonic in a very real way. It takes a lot, and often a long time, before their veneer gets chipped away enough for them to see the truth and accept Christ. Been there done that.

You may not agree with our methods, that is fine. But our methods do work with Mormons and other cultists.

Yes, that is what I call it, bigotry, because that is what it is.

"You see some classes of the human family that are black, uncouth, uncomely, disagreeable and low in their habits, wild, and seemingly deprived of nearly all the blessings of the intelligence that is generally bestowed upon mankind.

The first man that committed the odious crime of killing one of his brethren will be cursed the longest of any one of the children of Adam. Cain slew his brother. Cain might have been killed, and that would have put a termination to that line of human beings.

This was not to be, and the Lord put a mark upon him, which is the flat nose and black skin. Trace mankind down to after the flood, and then another curse is pronounced upon the same race--that they should be the 'servant of servants', and they will be, until that curse is removed."

Brigham Young-President and second 'Prophet' of the Mormon Church, 1844-1877- Extract from Journal of Discourses.

Here are two examples from their 'other testament', the Book of Mormon.

2 Nephi 5: 21 'And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people, the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them.'

Alma 3: 6 'And the skins of the Lamanites were dark, according to the mark which was set upon their fathers, which was a curse upon them because of their transgression and their rebellion against their brethren, who consisted of Nephi, Jacob and Joseph, and Sam, who were just and holy men.'

August 27, 1954 in an address at Brigham Young University (BYU), Mormon Elder, Mark E Peterson, in speaking to a convention of teachers of religion at the college level, said:

"The discussion on civil rights, especially over the last 20 years, has drawn some very sharp lines. It has blinded the thinking of some of our own people, I believe. They have allowed their political affiliations to color their thinking to some extent.I think I have read enough to give you an idea of what the Negro is after."

"He is not just seeking the opportunity of sitting down in a cafe where white people eat. He isn't just trying to ride on the same streetcar or the same Pullman car with white people. It isn't that he just desires to go to the same theater as the white people. From this, and other interviews I have read, it appears that the Negro seeks absorption with the white race. He will not be satisfied until he achieves it by intermarriage."

"That is his objective and we must face it. We must not allow our feelings to carry us away, nor must we feel so sorry for Negroes that we will open our arms and embrace them with everything we have. Remember the little statement that we used to say about sin, 'First we pity, then endure, then embrace'...."

(Rosa Parks would have probably told Petersen under which wheel of the bus he should go sit.)

1967, (then) Mormon President Ezra Taft Benson said,

"The Communist program for revolution in America has been in progress for many years and is far advanced. First of all, we must not place the blame upon Negroes. They are merely the unfortunate group that has been selected by professional Communist agitators to be used as the primary source of cannon fodder."

We are told that on June 8, 1978, it was 'revealed' to the then president, Spencer Kimball, that people of color could now gain entry into the priesthood.

According to the church, Kimball spent many long hours petitioning God, begging him to give worthy black people the priesthood. God finally relented.

Sometime before the 'revelation' came to chief 'Prophet' Spencer Kimball in June 1978, General Authority, Bruce R McConkie had said:

"The Blacks are denied the Priesthood; under no circumstances can they hold this delegation of authority from the Almighty.

The Negroes are not equal with other races where the receipt of certain blessings are concerned, particularly the priesthood and the temple blessings that flow there from, but this inequality is not of man's origin, it is the Lord's doings."

(Mormon Doctrine, pp. 526-527).

When Mormon 'Apostle' Mark E Petersen spoke on 'Race Problems- As they affect the Church' at the BYU campus in 1954, the following was also said:

"...if the negro accepts the gospel with real, sincere faith, and is really converted, to give him the blessings of baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost, he can and will enter the celestial kingdom. He will go there as a servant, but he will get celestial glory."

When Mormon 'Prophet' and second President of the Church, Brigham Young, spoke in 1863 the following was also said:

"Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God is death on the spot. This will always be so."

(Journal of Discourses, Vo. 10, p. 110)

Yeah; Native Americans are althroughout the Book of MORMON; too.

“I saw a striking contrast in the progress of the Indian people today ... they are fast becoming a white and delightsome people.... For years they have been growing delightsome, and they are now becoming white and delightsome, as they were promised.... The children in the home placement program in Utah are often lighter than their brothers and sisters in the hogans on the reservation.

At one meeting a father and mother and their sixteen-year-old daughter were present, the little member girl-sixteen-sitting between the dark father and mother, and it was evident she was several shades lighter than her parents—on the same reservation, in the same hogan, subject to the same sun and wind and weather.... These young members of the Church are changing to whiteness and to delightsomeness.

One white elder jokingly said that he and his companion were donating blood regularly to the hospital in the hope that the process might be accelerated.

(Improvement Era, December 1960, pp.922-23). (p. 209)

True. Thank you for the reminder. It isn’t just the cults, it has infiltrated the Body as well.
