Strategic minerals that are essential components in green and high technology such as hybrid cars, iPods and solar panels are readily available in the U.S. but efforts to mine the elements are being stalled by bureaucrats for years, industry officials say.
The United States is heavily reliant on foreign countries such as China for critical minerals that are the building blocks of our economy and imperative to renewable energy development, military technology and the manufacturing of nearly all of our electronic devices, said Rep. Doc Hastings (R-Wash.), chairman of the House Resources Committee.

Do not assume it’s accidental. The Chinese have plenty of money to pay to people to ensure they maintain a supply monopoly.
I’m sure Charlie Trie, Johnny Chung, John Huang, Maria Hsia, Elaine Kanchanalak and the others were not alone in buying and influencing policymakers here in the USA. And that’s just from Asia, China, Indonesia.
There could be thousands of people, maybe tens of thousands, who are at town, city, county, state or federal decision making levels who could be influenced by money, friendship, false flag allegiances, and all the “social engineering” you can fit in to make a particular decision a particular way.
I think there was a case recently where the enviros were all upset over an attempt to re-open a “gold mine” that was near some critical water resource. When I looked into it, it was not a gold mine, but rather one that had significant rare earth ores.
They don't need to pay a red cent. This gang at the EPA wants neither drilling nor mining. They're not real keen on manufacturing, either.
Intentional mining permit backlog leaves U.S. dependent on China for widely used rare minerals.
Sadly I'm sure the Zero sycophants did it for free, just for the pleasure of sabotaging America.
Imagine, though, that these people are not doing what they do for greenie reasons. Imagine that they are dedicated to working for China and the folks on the Arabian Peninsula.
They also would like farming stopped.
Broke, hungry with no power.
They want a culling of the population and without guns to defend ourselves.
They import the lowest of the lowest and encourage our enemies with our own tax dollars spent on their guns.
Washington needs to be sacked and those maggots tried in front a national TV audience, starting with Obama, Holder and Pelosi.
I have been wanting to rant on this for a while.
There are many interested parties who attempt to influence our federal government and its actions by recruiting Agents of Influence. Among the agents of influence are politicians, SES (Senior Executive Service), civil servants, and anyone else capable of providing intel or influencing Federal government decisions.
The parties trying to gain influence include foreign powers, interest groups (e.g., environazis), corporations (e.g., Goldman Sachs), unions, various causes, and even religious groups (e.g., scientology...OK, theyre not really a religion but they did try to infiltrate the CIA and FBI).
The normal way to gain control over an Agent of Influence is through money, ideology, or blackmail.
For example, I would bet my last dollar that a few congresscritters have secretly been enriched by the Saudis and other OPECKERS to oppose drilling in the USA in order to protect their cartels profits.
In order to root out such Agents of Influence I propose that that under the next pubbie Administration the IRS shall conduct deep, intrusive audits of all members of Congress, all SES, and all senior civil servants. ALL OF THEM REGARDLESS OF PARTY.
A deep audit will uncover suspicious money transfers, windfall profits on real estate or other investments, large gifts such as cars, etc. Then the Justice Dept. needs to PROSECUTE anyone who has been evading taxes, taking bribes, or aiding outside groups.
The criminal Agents of Influence will run for the exits at the first sign that such a serious crackdown is on the way.
This cleanup is the prelude to a 80-100% reduction in force of all civil servants. We need to screen and vet the remaining workers to retain only the honest, un-bribable few. There are few critical Federal functions that cannot be better done by outside contractors.
Such a drastic reduction in the civil service workforce is one of the primary strategies for fixing the runaway federal deficit.
Excellent rant. The fact that many feds are not quite current with their taxes may be a symptom of such influence.
I certainly wouldn't put it past them.
