How can this be posted in creaking news or current events? The story is at least 30+ years old.

The last democrap SNL actually went after was the idiot peanut farmer, and even then it was gentle. Since then it has been completely one sided.

Come to think of it, that must be why I stopped watching SNL about 30 years ago.

To: I cannot think of a name

As America gets dumbed down, so does SNL.

Er ... you see the problem here? If you don't actually watch the show, you can't say whether it's biased or not. I haven't watched the show much lately, but usually make a point of checking out the opening sketch which is usually political and pointed.

Of course it's not unbiased. But those first sketches in the Clinton years were usually about Bill and Hillary or Janet Reno or Monica Lewinsky. In that sense, they did sort of "go after" Clinton, not harshly or with ill-will, but they definitely made the most of his comic potential.

During the Bush years the first sketch was usually a take-down of Bush or Cheney or Condoleeza Rice or some other Republican. They even went after Bush's kids one week, something they say they never do.

During the last election, though, they probably had more sketches about Obama and Hillary Clinton than about McCain and the other Republicans, and even had skits about Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank.

This election cycle, though, it seems like every sketch is about Romney or Gingrich or Boehner and the Republicans. There's little about Barack, nothing about Michelle, and no jokes about such obvious targets as Carney or Geithner.

They have had sketches about Biden: I guess they feel more comfortable with a White comic taking down a White second banana than a non-Black coming going up against a Black (or part-Black) president. Last Saturday they took out that Osama-Obama sketch and put in a very lame one about Fox and Friends, as if they were a particularly tempting target.

So yes, they're biased, and they always were to some extent biased, but not to this extent -- at least not in recent decades. There definitely is something new here.
