Obama wants to have it both ways. He states publicly that marriage is between a man and a woman, but his thinking is still evolving. In the meantime, he sends out his surrogates, Biden and Duncan, who support gay marriage as a way to send the message to the gay community that he will change things in a second term.

What I found to be the most insulting was Carney bragging that Obama has decided not to enforce parts of DOMA, a US law approved by Congress and signed by the President (Clinton.) Since when does the Constitution allow the President to enforce the law selectively?

The Constitution has been getting ignored for a century now. I think it started with the Civil war, and most surely the “Federal Reserve” in 1913.

I first noticed it in my lifetime when they set a national 55 mph speed limit (55 saves lives...)

The Fedgov did not have the constitutional authority to pass that law, so they withheld Federal highway funds from states that did not comply. I call that blackmail.
