JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. --
A Johnson City man was arrested Sunday after police say he struck his girlfriend with a handgun.
According to reports from the Johnson City Police Department, Kenneth S. Harrison, 40, of Cherokee Road was arrested on Sunday at noon and charged with Aggravated Domestic Assault.
Police report that Harrison and his girlfriend got into a fight and when she attempted to run away, he grabbed her by the shirt and began to strike her in the face with a handgun. Harrison then allegedly pushed the woman to the ground and hit her several more times on the back of the head with the same gun.
As the altercation continued, reports indicate that he also tried to choke her on the couch – but she was able to escape.
Police say the woman was finally able to escape by using a box cutter in self-defense.
Harrison received a minor cut to his hand from the box cutter and was taken to the Johnson City Medical Center for treatment. He is currently being held at the Washington County Detention Center on a bond of $30,000 and will appear in court today.
More than likely the woman will bail the bum out and refuse to press charges because “she loves him”. Sad but true.
Nothing worse than beating your girlfriend into submission when she breaks out a box cutter and flays open your flesh and slices a couple of your tendons in half so you cannot hold the gun any longer. Good for her. Problem is...he is a JOHNSON CITY MAN. She should have gone for his frank and beans.

I’ll bet she was a white-hispanic! I’ll bet the guy had skittles in his other hand! Someone call Al Sharpton, someone write some new box-cutting legislation!
The box cutter is a weapon of choice and frequently carried by black women. Thus the reason for my profiling.
Ah. Makes perfect sense. I didn’t even think about it that way, but since I’m from Memphis I know all about their razors. I once watched a big black woman whip one out of her enormous bra and attempt to slash the face of a skinny little man. He had made the mistake of whistling at her.
