President Obama entered the national spotlight with a rousing 2004 Democratic convention speech that talked about how it was wrong "to slice-and-dice our country into red states and blue states." Last week he reiterated the point in a tweet to his followers, saying that "there are no red states or blue states, just the United States."
But when it comes to the economic recovery, there has been a clear difference. It turns out, in fact, that blue states have done worse economically than have red states under Obama, according to an IBD analysis of various government economic data.

Well... That’s not at all shocking. With the exception of large campaign donors, the Democrats usually screw every group they claim that they are trying to “help”. It’s just amazing the 1/2 of the US voters still buy their claims.

I saw some statistic that showed many of the states that received the most in federal spending were red states, while many of the larger blue states were near the bottom. However, the graphic did not explain which parts were spending for delivering goods to the feds, and which were merely payments to people doing nothing.
Clearly, those Red States, the so called ‘right to work’ states, are not contributing their fair share! /s
Norquist at CPAC has a pretty remarkable speech. He highlighted that 45 states have lowered or maintained existing tax rates. Five had raised rates. The five raising rates (IL, CT, CA, and others) have continued to flounder and get worse. The ones that have followed low tax, fiscal conservative policies have recovered, lowered unemployment, gained businesses, and seen recovery...despite the federal govt failures.
Obama wants us all to be California and Illinois.
When will the media switch to Red=Socialist states again?
Perhaps the modest edge in GDP growth came from the stimulus, disproportionately sent to blue states?
A bit counterintuitive perhaps. One would surmise that all of the porkulus largesse was being funneled to blue states.
Those that get the most are poverty stricken, drunk and drug addicted. Examples: Pine Ridge Reservation (South Dakota, Sioux), White Earth Reservation (Minnesota, Chippewa).
Those who get very little are doing fine. Examples: Unitah and Ouray Reservation (Utah, Ute), Osage Reservation (Oklahoma, Osage).
Those who get no government goodies whatsoever are doing the best. Example: Lumbee (North Carolina, no reservation).
Why do you suppose that is?
