UK Daily Mail ^ | May 8, 2012 | Tim Shipman

New French president Francois Hollande launched an outspoken attack last night on Britain’s obsession with protecting the City of London from Brussels-inspired legislation. As David Cameron warned that the single currency is in ‘extreme trouble’, the socialist victor suggested that Britain is ‘indifferent to the fate of the euro area’ and ‘attentive only to the interests of the City’. This is despite the fact that billions of pounds of UK taxpayers’ money is already being used to prop up the basket-case currency.

Who’d have thought that when times got tough for the EU, the finger pointing would commence? /s.

Yup. And the way things are going, I'm a bit concerned that we'll need to go over and settle the 3rd European Civil War, in not too many more years.

Look to see more of this finger pointing—Anti-Americanism and Anti-Capitalism is coming. The French will find out first hand what other nations had to learn the hard way. There is no Free Lunch. Look to see Pro-Muslim laws, Pro-Union laws, and higher taxes. Just wait for the inflation and riots. Time to cross off France as a vacation spot.

One of my favorite quotes,
“Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue
is the equal sharing of misery.”
Winston Churchill

Out of the frying pan and into the fire. France was never on my vacation bucket list...I'm not into abuse. My mom and dad went in the early 80’s and my mom was fluent in French. She heard all the snide comments the locals made at restaurants, hotels and shops when other Americans were being “obvious” Americans. She told me the French smile while disparaging you.

Firstly, some Americans (and some British, Irish, Germans, Aussies etc) can be loud and obnoxious. I have encountered them in France and elsewhere. Thankfully, like most holidaymakers, they are a minority. But the stereotype of the camera-wearing, baseball capped ‘Yank’ who sorts problems BY SPEAKING MUCH LOUDER does exist. As does the loud German, yobbish Brit, drunken Scot.....

I have rolled my eyes, mumbled under my breath and made ‘snide comments’ to French people about loud and obnoxious Americans on holiday. But I dont think all Americans are like that. Just that individual or family.

Secondly, makes your own mind up. I like things and places my parents dont. France is a beautiful country, Paris probably the greatest city on earth, and is well worth a visit.
