We’re all fat because of electricity. Seriously. Take away air conditioning and television and all the automation that electronics provides. Go back to wood stoves and growing our own food. Mind you, I’m not advocating any of that, but we would, of necessity, be much slimmer. That layer of insulation that most of us carry around is a product of prosperity.
YOU SIR, hit the nail on the head!
I fear though that the obamination would have us all (except for the special few) live like that. It would though, breed a tough people again who might revolt and bring down the pampered butts at the top.

Those fit-and-able farmboys of a century ago won two world wars and set us up for the pampered lives this generation has enjoyed.

My Dad and his brothers were among them.
