Law enforcement officials in central Florida have been rounding up members of a white supremacist group who were allegedly training with weapons at a rural Osceola County compound. The training was reportedly in preparation for a coming "race war."
The group was also planning a "disturbance" at Orlando City Hall to recruit new members, according to court documents.
The arrests of the 10 alleged members of the neo-Nazi skinhead group American Front, or AF, came after a confidential informant infiltrated its Osceola County chapter and shared information about the group's plans with state investigators.
The arrests serve as one of numerous reminders of the efforts of law enforcement to monitor, and sometimes crack down on, the militia and hate groups whose numbers have ticked up since the election of President Obama.
In Alaska on Monday, a 12-member jury was selected in the trial of three militia members who are accused of planning to kill judges and police, according to the Anchorage Daily News. In Georgia on Tuesday, two militia members who had allegedly planned to attack government workers and buildings attended a pretrial hearing after two of their alleged conspirators agreed to cooperate with federal prosecutors, according to the Associated Press.
Seven of the arrests in Florida occurred over the weekend, with three more suspects arrested Monday, according to court documents and a statement from the office of Lawson Lamar, the state attorney based in Orlando.
Each of the seven, including the apparent ringleader, Marcus Faella, 41, faces state felony charges of attempting to shoot into an occupied dwelling, evidence of prejudice while committing a crime, and violation of a state "paramilitary training" statute....

I lived in Manhattan in the 80s and worked in the Diamond District and never saw anything like that there..and there were Lubavitch and other Orthodox all over the place ...we even have a few here in Nashville...one is a prominant gun rights advocate whom I actually know...

I do have a concealed permit, valid in Texas. I will probably check my handgun, but I don’t know the procedure, and they keep it vague to try to get you in trouble, I think.

Regarding “anti-semitic” events, it’s probably monthly I get something.
Anytime I ride the subway in the northeast in a non-Jewish area, I’ll get something from a bum, typically a black guy. Just crude comments trying to get a rise. Same stuff they do to women or you, but targeted at visible Jewishness. I don’t know if I count that.
Hairly eyeball from arab/ME street vendors, etc. any time they see me. Don’t count that. They probably do that to everyone.
Catcalls (”[insert insult] Jooooooooo”) in London, Paris. Typical stuff. I tend to wave and say “thank you, yes, I know!”
Actual, real, events have been 5-6 over a lifetime.
I got put in the hospital in Cambridge by a drunk white guys who decided to run up and smash the back of our heads we paving stones as we walked to shul one Friday night. This was, by far, the most serious.
My wife and I had a very unpleasant encounter with arabs on the Berkeley campus (she was there for medical conference), where we got pushed around out of the blue. I got a fat lip and I broke some teeth out of one guy.
The slurpee incident in Houston, which was unpleasant, but no big deal. Ruined my shirt and tie, but no one sat next to me on the Soutwest flight!
There are some others that I forget as I sit here, and lots of stupid crap in school that I don’t count.
On the bright/funny side, I got asked to have sex in an asian country so the woman (who was married and a professional, and no, not that kind of “professional”) could have smart children who would do well financially. She was very serious and rather insulted I wouldn’t sleep with her.
Not sure if that was “anti” semitic, but it was very odd.

if you really delve into how they treated the Serbs and Jews it is nothing short of about the worst mass behavior I have ever see
if it caused Himmler to ask them to tone it down then that sort of tells you it must have been bad
and that it involved some tacit approval from Catholic Church officals in the Ustashi against the Jews and Orthodox Serbs is about as ugly as Western Civilization gets

I worked a bit in Ramat Gan and politics never much came up except that I was obviously pro Israel but not like some Christians are for Rapture reasoning

I'm curious about this because people think the south is so racist and yet I very rarely see that down here. Very few Jewish people around these parts so I never see the antisemitic things that happen. Now we get plenty of Baptists vs Methodists vs Church of Christ wars going on :) they can be brutal don't ya know.
