Every banknote issued by Canada is still legal tender, but a lot of older ones are worth more than face value (especially 1967 and pre-1954).
After WWI, the French government designated part of the battlefield to be Canadian soil, so technically the monument is in Canada, not France.
Not paper- they’re plastic. It includes a couple of transparent sections. The $100 and $50 versions of the series are in circulation now.

Do you think this "plastic" would have any value if Canada ceases to exist? (Maple Leafs, of course, would.)
And BTW, Australia has had notes with transparent parts for at least 20 years now (which would be worthless if Australia ceases to exist).
