It will be interesting to see how far left Lugar will slide in the waning months of his life long career sucking the gov’t teat. I predict he’ll be a rubber stamp for the Kenyan Kid.
I pray that Mourdock follows his "rejectionist orthodoxy".
Proverbs 4:27
23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
Term limits is one way. Taking the perks away is another.
Neither will get past the very people that the perks/unlimited terms go to.
Since we can’t get it passed ourselves, WE have to be the ones to limit their terms.
It seems we have failed in that regard.
Yes, yes, she did have it wrong.
And, I can't bear listening to her voice. She is scratched out in my little book - with the pen, not the pencil.
He, He, 2 Kool 2 Be 4-Gotten!
It may be too late but as long as I have to go to the dentist, maybe I can get the song drilled out of me so I can get another, much better song that runs around my brain later.
With MacArthur's Park, I may need an exorcism...
Just sayin’
Peggy has her moments when she can string words together in ways that actually work (and of course she has gotten paid her whole life for doing this) - but much more often she is not a whole lot different than Mo Dowd minus the ocean going freighter’s worth of emotional baggage that Mo carries around.
Each year, the citizenry shoud march every DC pol up in front of a mirror. When its reflection begins to fade, it’s time for it to go.
Perhaps Lugar was once a “reflective” person. I doubt that he is, any longer.
“The Founders didn’t foresee the legislative job becoming a career.”
Yes they did. It was certainly considered in the constitutional debates. Soon to be President Jefferson was an advocate of term limits. The founders did not intend for the job to become a career, but they did foresee it and warned against letting it happen. In the end, they left it for voters to decide.
Amending the constitution is certainly withing our perview, just unlikely.
On the other hand if you were a guy and a girl answered that way......
looks like Indiana spit out a Lugar....
Looks like the Fraudster is in trouble in Indiana for the November elections.
If nothing else, he got you out of the Senate. That's good for at least 6 years of good will.
Stolen for my new tagline. Hope you don't want royalties, cause you ain't gettin' em. :)
That's why the term "RINO" makes no sense. Republicans reluctantly were only conservative for a brief period because of Reagan.
Good luck finding a conservative dude that knows how to interpret art... Heheh - I know I would have probably said something similar, even having never seen this painting.
Which version, Donna Summer or Richard Harris?
Oh thanks a frickin’ lot, now I’ve got that song in my head!
I had little to no opinion of the man until I merely glanced at his statement. There seemed to be so many petty words and phrases that it overwhelmed me to the point of being repulsed by Lugar. Good riddance.
