The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is wasting hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars by allowing screening machines to languish in warehouses rather than deploying them at U.S. airports, congressional investigators said Wednesday. When the new screening units finally were installed, they were not properly tested and were used only for very short periods of time in many locations, the investigators said. And the public is not allowed to know whether the machines, which are designed to detect nonmetallic underwear bombs like the one al Qaeda planned to use this week, are effective, they said.

Hire Israel’s airport security experts as consultants and get rid of the this Kabuki theater nonsense.
During one holiday weekend, when long,slow lines would have been a public relations issue, didn’t they just casually turn off the machines and take a little break from the big theatrical process?
I loath the TSA . Every time my daughter travels with my grandson he gets pulled over for secondary search. This has been going on since he was 18 months old. His name is Israel, I guess a two year old named Israel is an issue.

Different applications; but same underlying fictional MO as Solyndra-Gate; or 'Energy-Gate' or should that just be an add on; (like 'Global-warming) to 'Green-Gate'.
Remember, the criticism; warnings by a few; from beginning to delivery at airport gates. No one to change it; stop it; or care.
Nothing new here. Our nations security aside; it was enough; that these scanners would allow travelers to feel good; feel safe. We are supposed to feel good too, about being 'Green'; but we know what lies behind or more aptly; 'beneath' that story as well. Same MO per Obamacare; perped as a Government 'caring' about the health of it's citizens.
What IS amazing here; despite a history of carnage - human or economic - a slavery; imposed or unwittingly invited; these freedom-sucking'/life-sucking totalitarians are not without success. . .
The Left's MO is the Bearer of Gifts. One might think, that 'all' would know by now, to 'beware'.

Make no mistake freepers, the smoky backroom deal, and the waste and fraud in this deal was lead by Republican party lobbyists and politicians.
