The leftism of liberal Jews and some conservative Jews is due mainly to the success of Communist propaganda in the US over the past 90 years. They convinced a lot of people who hated the Czar that communists were their saviors and a whole bunch of people bought it, hook, line, and sickle. That seems like an incredibly lame explanation, poof, suddenly in 1920 almost all American Jews suddenly became genetically left wingers, when before they weren't.
