It could cost U.S. employers between $2 billion and $4 billion to comply with an obscure Americans with Disabilities Act regulation meant to protect workers who are gun-shy in public restrooms.

According to an informal discussion letter the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission issued in August 2011, “paruresis” — more commonly known as “shy bladder syndrome” — qualifies as a disability under the amended Americans with Disabilities Act.

This is so stupid. It’s something EVERY guy has to some extent or another. It’s an issue of state of mind, circumstances etc. If you were to make a guy stand in the middle of a room while twenty people leaned forward to watch, 95% would shut down altogether. Ask the nurses who are supposed to collect urine for drug tests.

What’s next? ADA protection for people who oversleep in the mornings?

Off-topic, but... is that a *girl* in the photo — standing? The one in the blue shirt. Disturbing.

Also, the guy on the far left end isn't going in the trough he's watering the bushes.

I several times went over 15 employees to meet professional responsibilities before I decided it wasn’t worth the trouble. Now I have no employees, for entirely political reasons, and I’m much happier. I absolutely can’t stand dealing with people who display an entitled mindset, and too many parasites know enough to hide that aspect of their nature during job interviews.

It also covers substance abuse. I was sued when I did not hire an anesthesiologist who had a history of narcotic abuse. The case settled but it cost me.

“When I worked in Japan, the porcelain in most urinals reached to the floor. I think the Japanese figured out long ago that the extra money spent in porcelain costs up front would save dealing with idiot and poor aimer costs down the road in spades. “

older urinals in the US were this way too. You can still see them from time to time....

ADA was supposed to be about REAL disabilities.

The ADA Act was hastily thrown together so Congress and Bush, Sr. could look caring. It was intentionally left vague with the understanding that it would be enforced by the courts. So, there you go.

Tried such remedies in the past but am wed to Flomax (most cost effective prescription drug)for prostate and potassium citrate for stones. Giving consideration to “Tuna” procedure to get off Flomax as Medicare will pay for it. Sometimes it’s a bitch getting older.

LOL! The Dutch do better (at Schipol Airport in Amsterdam). They have urinals with fake flies built in to the porcelain. Everybody aims for the flies.

Here, a picture of Obama might work even better.
