STAMFORD, CONNECTICUT, May 9, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) WWE wrestling superstar C.M. Punk strikes an aggressive pose inside the ring, but it seems he saved his hardest blows for supporters of the traditional family.
On Monday, the grappler told his Twitter followers he opposed North Carolinas constitutional amendment to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman, which passed in a landslide on Tuesday.
One of his followers responded, Man was meant for woman, and even the thought of homos make me sick. Punk then replied, Kill yourself.
He told another supporter of the nuclear family to drink bleach.
Just chalk it up as the sort of rhetoric were used to now from the forces of tolerance, Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH) told LifeSiteNews.com.
In another tweet, Punk castigated the amendments supporters as So many stupid people. Bigots. Talking about whats natural.
Ironically, he later posted a message stating, I am a star. Im fighting bigots here. Zero tolerance.
The measure, he wrote, is ridiculous. He added, The human race is embarrassing. #evolve.
It just never stops, LarBarbera said. As gay power grows, the rhetoric on the other side becomes more and more caustic and contemptuous of anybody who disagrees.
The 33-year-old, born Philip Jack Brooks, is one of the most popular wrestlers in the WWE.
If it was a conservative athlete who said to a pro-gay activist kill yourself, I think his career would be over, LaBarbera told LifeSiteNews.
Later Monday evening after the wrestling federations anchor program Monday Night Raw Punk softened his remarks and deleted the offending remarks from his Twitter feed.
I apologize, he responded. I dont want you to kill yourself. I want you to better yourself. Just as I want to better myself.
He later added, Sorry yall. If I let anybody down, I apologize. Ill make it up to ya and move forward with a better understanding of others feelings.
However, he claimed he had merely decided to stoop to others levels. Sometimes I fight fire with fire and it isnt ways the best way.
Where are the voices of sanity on the liberal side that come down on these kind of things? LaBarbera asked. I think the message is out on the Left: anything goes especially if youre bashing a Christian.
Pro-marriage, pro-family advocates have have increasingly become the targets of verbal and sometimes physical bullying.
It Gets Better campaign creator Dan Savage belittled students who walked out of his foul-mouthed talk at a high school journalism convention, dubbing them pansy-a**ed.
In April, a group of Angry Queers smashed church windows in Portland, throwing rocks through stained-glass windows at the Oregon satellite location of Mars Hill Church, because its pastor teaches sex outside of traditional marriage is sinful....
Bingo..this is nothing but a scripted wrestling show to make a good guy/bad guy image to attract fans.
Chicago Made Punk?
Thanks for the ping.
I was a big fan, but I unfollowed him on Twitter yesterday when he started pushing the gay marriage agenda. I’m wondering if he and Colt Cabana (non-WWE guy) have some kind of extracurricular relationship.
And I definitely think someone upstairs pushed the non-apology.
I never heard of this guy before until the other night when he sang “Take me out to the ballgame” during the 7th inning stretch of the Cubs/Braves game. I tell you, a screeching cat sounded better than this guy singing. Afterwards, the announcers were interviewing him and I came to the conclusion this guy was dumb as a grapefruit. Now my conclusion has been confirmed.
Pretty much the same thing, at this point.
Besides, he wants supporters of traditional marriage dead. Right back at him. I hope the scumbag gets his neck broken in his next match.
Chick Magnet Punk, I think.
“Evolve”.
Really, that’s what that is.
Really from a historical sense it’s “de-volving”, but then again, facts have never gotten in the way of a liberal cliche before.
I am also so glad he said “zero tolerance”. Zero Tolerance is not thinking. It’s shutting off your brain and not using common sense. It’s actually what the “Two Minutes Hate” process is. It’s a conditioned reflex to not think anytime you think you see something but just start shouting and screaming and chanting mindless slogans.
Zero tolerance thinking has gotten us: schools that punish people for defending themselves against bullys; kids being suspended for bringing aspirin and midol to school; kids suspended for drawing guns on paper; kids expelled for having a swiss army knife in their pocket.
Zero tolerance thinking has also gotten us the current TSA screening process.
And this guy thinks it’s the pinnacle of thought and justice on how to handle things. Thank you Lord for the idiots opening their mouths and confirming for all, they are idiots. They parade their idiocy around and consider it to be great intellect. Thank you Lord for their pride and vanity.
This is the left’s idiocy.
When you are a zero tolerance person, in order to be “tolerant” of others, you have to be intolerant of those deemed to be intolerable.
Now the question is who made them the judge of the universe to get to decide what must be tolerated, and what must not be tolerated?
They don’t like it when you drive the conversation that way.
They will usually say they have “education” and teaching to do that. Then you hit them with I thought all you guys said personal morality needed to be kept out of schooling, isn’t that exactly what you’re trying to do to ME right now under the guise of painting ME as the intolerant one, according to YOUR moral standards? When was the vote that said YOUR moral worldview was superior than everyone else’s? When did I put you in charge of my moral conscience, and my kids’ moral conscience? I didn’t get that notice in the mail.
They do not like uppity thinking citizens.
I think it’s “Chicago Made”.
Funny considering Obama is also Chicago Made.
Oh - Wikipedia says you’re right. :)
I just remember watching WWE a while back and the fans were carrying signs saying “Chicago Made Punk”...course I believe they were wrestling in Chicago at the time....
This could get entertaining. This guy needs to be retired from the business. I’m not talking about protests or anything at his matches, because a lot of wrestlers make a career out of being “bad guys”.
Instead word of mouth that he is gay, and involved with other gay wrestlers. That straight wrestlers don’t want to practice with him because he gets “sexually excited”, and it grosses them out.
That sort of thing could severely hurt his career.
WWE wrestling superstar C.M. Punk is unworthy of dating, marrying, or in any way associating with.
Wow, what a statement by that... "wrestler"!
I don't know if Linda McMahon will be hurt by it.... she's a RINO. Ugh, we're just starting to get bombarded by her TV and radio ads yet again.
Personally, I don't think she nor any other Republican has a chance to replace Sen. Joe Lieberman in the upcoming race. "Independent" Senator Joe Lieberman was at least on the right side regarding radical Islam and other foreign policy issues. I fully expect he will be replaced by yet another dyed-in-the-wool hardcore union-loving far-left democRAT, specifically Chris Murphy, currently a congress critter in CT's 5th district.
The People's Republik of Connecticut is as lost as France, IMO. The only answer at this point is to move out... which we hope to do someday.
“The People’s Republik of Connecticut is as lost as France, IMO.”
You’re in competition with your cousins in Massholechusetts! :)
I haven’t watched WWE since the poorly done merger with WCW.
Ditto your cousins here in Joisey.
It’s sad to think about the states that are so deep “Blue”, isn’t it?
So True...
Now, if anyone know the political views of John Cena or the BIG SHOW....I don't want to know... (they are my favorite entertainers in Wrestling!!)
This loser is probably a hostile, disrepectful queer himself.
