Democrats Having Second Thoughts About Charlotte

Democrats who already were queasy about the site of their national convention could be excused after Tuesday's election in North Carolina if they asked, "Tell me again just why we're going to Charlotte this year?"

In fact, many Democrats privately are asking exactly that after the state's voters overwhelmingly approved a measure outlawing not just same-sex marriage -- which already was illegal in North Carolina -- but also any form of civil unions.

Almost immediately after the vote, more than 20,000 people signed a "move the convention" petition being pushed by a New York group called Gay Marriage USA. And Twitter accounts lit up with hundreds of angry tweets demanding the party pull out of Charlotte.

And it's not as if things were going swimmingly for convention organizers before Tuesday's vote. Fundraising was lagging with the Democrats' decision not to accept money from corporations, making it much more difficult to reach the needed $36.6 million.

That led to more pressure on labor unions to pony up. But they would rather spend their money on grassroots efforts and are still miffed that the party decided to go to a "right to work" state and a city with few unionized hotels.

Well the Democrats would probably destroy the city during the convention as is their way, so the Charlotte business folks are faced with sort of a damned if ya do, or ya don’t situation aren’t they.

They should move it to Havana Cuba: a city that has all the Democrat virtues and ideas in one neat package. :)

Shi- they should just book it at Romneys house. He agrees with far more of their agenda than even democrats in NC do.

They should “boycott” Charlotte and then have their boy Holder bring a few “lawsuits” against North Carolina. “Hope and change” or not, freakin’ police states and Marxist dictators suck.

Not mentioned in the article is the fact that one of the former heads of Bank of America, former Obama supporter and BMIC (BIG man in Charlotte) by the name of McColl is hosting a fundraiser for Romney. LOL

The matter was put up for a vote and the people decided. If the Democrats don’t like it, then they can do the people of the beautiful state of North Carolina a favor by not being there to stink up the place. The people of North Carolina can return the favor by helping to retire the Obama regime.

:-)

On a visit to the Cape back in the 1980's, I literally knew nothing much about the whole area beside Chappaquiddick, of course. Heading up from Dennis, our family ended up in P-town. Suffice it to say, it was a very short stay once I saw what was going on there. Absolutely disgusting!

Dems should move their convention to the Southside of Chicago... or South Central LA. They should help the communities they get their votes from...

NY, LA or Chicago. I don’t think anybody else wants it in their backyard.

There’s lots of places they’ve already polluted and destroyed so much that they’d be welcomed big time! Burlington, Ithaca, Austin, Madison, Asheville...

Why not just move the convention to the islands off Alaska that Obozo just gave to his commie brethren over in Russia!!!

F’ing commies...I hope they keep driving this wedge...it will clearly define the choices this November and we can finally silence these Un-American, freedom hating criminals!!!

The entire Democratic party will be obliterated at the polls.

The Detroit Silver Dome would be a perfect fit, they won’t have to dream about what “Forward” will achieve. They will be able to see it in real life.

Am pleased the democRATS want to move the convention. Maybe am more than pleased ... ecstatic and cup runneth over with joy ... type of pleased. North Carolina deserves better than democRATS. Praying for full RED in 2012 from the federal level, the state level, down to the local level.

Bring it here to Los Angeles. Mayor Tony Villar can give opening remarks about how the city budget will be balanced by tripling and quadrupling the price of a parking ticket.
"Our Meters only work half the time, and they will run down fast. Prepare to pawn shop your children and gold teeth. And that is a good thing"

Charlotte may get lucky on this one, and the donks will reschedule for San Fran or Seattle.

I suggest San Francisco, as in 1984. First, there is NO queasiness about gay marriage there. And second, hopefully Obama can duplicate Walter Mondale’s electoral performance that year.
