That woman is SICK!

Imagine what the kid will do when he grows up.

Frankly, I think Time was looking for a shocking cover to get attention.

That being said........that cover pic is creepy.

I know I’m going to get flamed for this, but a mom nursing a 3 year old is perfectly fine.

Before you flip out, read on: perfectly fine for a bedtime comfort nursing. Not perfectly fine dressed sexily on Time magazaine’s cover.

Weaning anywhere from 12 months to over 3 years is normal and fine. Many babies wean earlier. The second year of breast feeding can be more for comfort and also to add the perfect food to the often finicky toddler palate. The third year of nursing is often really just at bedtime or upon waking. It’s not for food. It’s to capture a little bit of babyness while you are mostly trying to become a big kid. It should be discreet and done only at home.

Humans are babies for about three years. There is no need to rush weaning, yet mostly it happens between 10 and 24 months. There are reasons or sweet habits for it to continue a bit longer if mother and baby want it, but it should be saved for bedtime. It’s like weaning off the bottle. A three year old might get so much comfort from his bedtime bottle that his parents still let him have one as he transitions to preschooler. Same thing.

Only infants who do not yet eat enough solids need to be fed wherever they are. And everyone needs to understand that babies need to be fed. And every nursing mom needs to understand that she should make the world feel comfortable by being discreet. I used to nurse in my car a lot.

This picture is purely meant to cause controversy. She’s dressed sexily and looks like a model. Her boob is fully exposed except for the part the boy is smilingly gobbling. And this three year old looks about seven. And he is mugging for the camera. It’s ridiculous.

I keep looking up for the big asteroid.

A higher power usually hits “the reset button” about now.

Caligula’s Rome and Weimar Germany come to mind.

Why aren’t these people in jail for pedophilia? Anyone else would be.

And I bet that’s not his mother either...but a model. So why isn’t she and the photographer, editor (et al) in jail for abuse? Oh—this is different, right? This is the MSM—they’re more enlightened than we are. They’re special and exempt, right?

"TIME Magazine has been dying for years. I believe the only attention and publicity TIME magazine gets now is from Conservatives ripping on it. If we ignore it, it WILL go away."

Exactly. Nothing more than an attempt to get attention in the hopes that readership will increase.

4 is way too old imo. But to each his/her own, lol. We don’t live in a 3rd world hell hole so it’s not necessary. I nursed my oldest until she was 14 mos and I was pregnant with my 2nd. Doctor told me to wean. I was feeding 3 people, lol. Nursed all my kids, 2nd until about 8 mos or so when she wasn’t interested and not suckling properly and I was sick. Nursed the 3rd until about 13 mos or so...weaned her more easily than the first. Nursed the last until about 14 mos or so and she was the hardest to wean because it was so hard for me. My baby and my last baby. I knew it was the last time I’d nurse unless...lol.

Time’s cover. Seriously...a kid on a stool nursing...agenda. Not sure what their agenda could be other than FREAK!

I’m all for nursing babies. I nursed all mine. And I did’t give a damn about where or when. Not my problem if some moron had an issue with it.

The Time cover isn’t about nursing, imo. Yes, other cultures nurse longer, rme. They’re also 3rd wold hell holes and not something I think we should emulate.

A Mom nursing a 3 yr old is not for the kid, it’s for the mom. It’s not fine. It’s weird. In the United States and not some 3rd world hell hole, it’s weird and not about the kid.

3 months? You should have gone to another pediatrician.

Most pediatricians advocate breastfeeding for one yaar (look it up).

The American Association of Pediatrics recommends:
“Exclusive breastfeeding for approximately the first six months and support for breastfeeding for the first year and beyond as long as mutually desired by mother and child”

Amen....about how my wife handled it
She kept a nursing blanket to cover her comely

kittens when she plopped them out for one of the boys as infants.....she cut them off between 6-10 months mainly to get them bottle dependent so they would sleep all night

After last baby her cup size didnt really go down ....i had always thought that urban legend....but it does happen....and i think breast feeding contributes

God is indeed kind to husbands too....

Yes, maybe, but what do you think it will do to his psyche in the future when he’s older. I don’t know, but I don’t think it’ll be good for him having that around always. It gives new meaning to the “titty baby” cliche.
