The Arab Spring Leads to Jerusalem
More than one year after the dawn of the Arab Spring, the dream of democracy is fading. Consider this rally on May 1st launching the Egyptian Presidential campaign of the Muslim Brotherhoods candidate Muhammad Mursi. You can watch a video clip from the rally on MEMRI at: http://www.memritv.org/clip/en/3431.htm.
Heres a partial transcript of what the Egyptian cleric Safwat Higazi said introducing Mursi:
We can see how the dream of the Islamic Caliphate is being realized, Allah willing, by Dr. Muhammad Mursi and his brothers, his supporters, and his political party. We can see how the great dream, shared by us all - that of the United States of the Arabs ... The United States of the Arabs will be restored, Allah willing. The United States of the Arabs will be restored by this man and his supporters. The capital of the Caliphate - the capital of the United States of the Arabs - will be Jerusalem, Allah willing.
Higazi goes on to stir the crowd with a chant Millions of martyrs march toward Jerusalem. On the way, they plan to liberate Gaza.
The Jerusalem Posts Caroline Glick commented on this rally and sounded an alarm:
Our enemies are on the march. We must embrace the only military doctrine that has ever really worked -- preempt them by initiating the war on their territory. We need at least another full active duty division - preferably mechanized infantry -- in the Southern Command. Stop spending money on defense. We need tanks, APCs, MLRS battalions, the works. We can't afford to be taken by surprise.
As someone said, the Arab Spring doesnt lead to democracy, it leads to Jerusalem.
It was never about freedom for ANYONE. Always about controlling the other... In the name of Islam.
An Islamic government overthrow leading to freedom?
Only the naive would ever imagine it.
The ironic thing is that, Jerusalem is never, ever once mentioned in the Koran.
I think what they mean is that prior to the Arab Spring there were many people in Egypt that dreamed of democracy and when Mubaric was suddenly gone and elections were being held for the first time in many many years, they were so optimistic.
I was in Egypt last fall, and our guide, a Coptic Christian, was just bubbling over with joy and hope, proudly pointing out all the campaign posters and banners hanging everywhere you looked in the streets, and saying how wonderful Democracy was going to be.
It was the week after we left that things started falling apart and the Muslim faction started showing so much force and the violence got bad.
“We can see how the dream of the Islamic Caliphate is being realized,.....””
... to think that Obama had a very significant hand in it right down to having his private war, with American and NATO forces in Libya to consolidate the caliphate. Allah akbar. all is possible now that we are the largest muslim nation.
Gotta love the media and Obama.
If that doesnt warm your heart, I don’t know what will.

Psalm 83 (New Living Translation)
A song. A psalm of Asaph.
1 O God, do not be silent!
Do not be deaf.
Do not be quiet, O God.
2 Dont you hear the uproar of your enemies?
Dont you see that your arrogant enemies are rising up?
3 They devise crafty schemes against your people;
they conspire against your precious ones.
4 Come, they say, let us wipe out Israel as a nation.
We will destroy the very memory of its existence.
5 Yes, this was their unanimous decision.
They signed a treaty as allies against you
6 these Edomites and Ishmaelites;
Moabites and Hagrites;
7 Gebalites, Ammonites, and Amalekites;
and people from Philistia and Tyre.
8 Assyria has joined them, too,
and is allied with the descendants of Lot. Interlude
9 Do to them as you did to the Midianites
and as you did to Sisera and Jabin at the Kishon River.
10 They were destroyed at Endor,
and their decaying corpses fertilized the soil.
11 Let their mighty nobles die as Oreb and Zeeb did.
Let all their princes die like Zebah and Zalmunna,
12 for they said, Let us seize for our own use
these pasturelands of God!
13 O my God, scatter them like tumbleweed,
like chaff before the wind!
14 As a fire burns a forest
and as a flame sets mountains ablaze,
15 chase them with your fierce storm;
terrify them with your tempest.
16 Utterly disgrace them
until they submit to your name, O Lord.
17 Let them be ashamed and terrified forever.
Let them die in disgrace.
18 Then they will learn that you alone are called the Lord,
that you alone are the Most High,
supreme over all the earth.
