He  swapped her for a younger woman.  Then she tried to stop him becoming president of France.

But Francois Hollande is on course to make former partner Segolene Royal the most powerful female politician in the country, despite the bitterness of their separation after 30 years and four children together.

President-elect Mr Hollande and fellow Socialist Miss Royal still have their personal differences and she does not get on with his current partner Valerie Trierweiler, a journalist 11 years her junior.

Only last year, while Mr Hollande and his former partner were contesting the Socialist nomination for the presidency, Miss Royal said: ‘Can anyone recall anything Francois Hollande has done in 30 years?’

Watch the circus and soap opera play out in France!
Former Live- in gal pal, Segolène Royal hates new live in girlfriend, Valérie Trieweiller aka Rottweiller, fancies herself “First Lady” of France.
Hollande has four children with Royal, whom he refused to marry, saying “marriage is a bourgeois institution”.
He now plans to move onto the Presidential palace with a woman who is not his wife, and expects the entire world to accept it.
SOCIALISM ANYONE?

We will soon start seeing posters of Sarko and Carla saying “Miss me yet?”

This is what happens when you put a 60s era BoBo (bourgeois bohemian) in charge.

M. Hollande, true Socialist that he is, has never had a real job, yet has an annual income of €350,000 from no show- no work Socialist party “jobs”, owns two expensive homes, but no car.

dollars, owns two houses

...Valerie Trierweiler, a journalist 11 years her junior.

Isn't interesting that a "journalist" became the second wife of a socialist politician. So much for being an unbiased "journalist", huh?

The Leftists are laughing all the way to the bank (until they discover they have been sold out by their apparatchiks and the Bank now operates under Sharia Law!)

“Can anyone recall anything Francois Hollande has done in 30 years?”

Well, Segolene, you mean other than kno** you up four times?

Sorry to be crude, but I have no use for women who get themselves in this position and then have the audacity to become bitter. She didn’t seem to care one whit about what she was doing to #1, #2, #3 or #4 as all this played out.

Rant over

Wait until Valerie Trierweiler gets photographed in a bikini. The circle of insanity for France will be complete.

I haven't noticed France swapped Presidents yet, certainly with the way their leader behaves. The previous guy, Sarkozy was having an affair with a journalist of Le Figaro, Anne Fulda, while still married to his second wife Cécilia. Less than a month after separating from Cécilia, he got in a relationship Carla Bruni. He began dating her shortly after becoming President of France. There were credible rumors both Sarko and Carla were cheating on each other while he was President. At last count, Sarko has at least 4 children, by 3 different women (Culioli, Ciganer-Albéniz, and Bruni)

If Hollande's elevation at least leads to the death of the Euro and the return of the Franc, there will be indeed be "radical change". But I won't miss Sarko, I'll thank God he's gone!

You are misinformed. Your trashy gossip is worthy of the National Enquirer, not FR.
Nicolas Sarkozy has four children who were born in marriage, not out of wedlock. His second wife Cécilia left him, and he was divorced when he married Carla Bruni. They have a baby daughter, Giulia.
Having the Euro implode is not the same thing as withdrawing from the euro.
Shouldn’t you be posting this garbage at l’Humanité or le Monde, whose politics you seem to share?

>> Nicolas Sarkozy has four children who were born in marriage, not out of wedlock. <<

I said nothing about "born out of wedlock" I said he has at least four children by three different women, at last count: Pierre and Jean (by Culioli), Louis (by Ciganer-Albéniz), and Giulia (by Bruni). Do you deny this? You're always going on about his "beautiful family" (since there was little positive to talk about his record in office), so I reminded freepers that he frequently changes wives.

>> Having the Euro implode is not the same thing as withdrawing from the euro. <<

If the Euro implosion FORCES France (who will have to dragged kicking and screaming into it) to abandon the Euro and go back to the Franc, I consider it a welcome side effect. I agree with the UK on this one, the Euro was a terrible idea and the European countries should have never agreed to abandon their own currency and have an orwellian "shared currency" between them. Do you agree with Sarko's position? Do you believe that is a conservative position?

>> Shouldn’t you be posting this garbage at l’Humanité or le Monde, whose politics you seem to share? <<

Hmmm. Let's see. I am: pro-life, pro-gun rights, anti-national government run health care, anti-gay "rights", anti-global warming scam, find the spread of arabic in western society alarming, and supported American troops during the war on terror.

By contrast, Sarko/Obama (and Sarko made it clear during his re-election campaign that he considers them a "team", so don't bash me for lumping them together like Sarko wanted) are: pro-abortion, anti-gun rights, pro-national government run health care, pro-gay "rights", pro-global warming scam, opposed helping American troops during the war on terror, and think arabic is a beautiful and intellilectural languauge and it's a great step forward to see it spreading in western nations. Shouldn't you be supporting Barack Obama, like your hero Sarko urges you to?

In fairness to Sark, Cécilia was a whore who cheated on and left him. So if he cheated on her too, big deal.

Sark may be not be a saint but Hollande sauce seems a bit higher on the sleaze/soap opera scale. Running against his ex for the nomination, beating her and then making her President of the Parliament? This would be Bill and Hillary if only America cared as little about family values as France seems to!

Just because she cheated doesn’t make it okay, morally, for him to do the same. The principle is still the same. Divorcing her would have been the way to go.
