Doesn’t an inflammatory response happen for a valid reason?

If we prevent the response, couldn’t something even worse happen? Unintended consequences...

Correctomundo, but sometimes immune systems go out of whack,
and start tearing up good normal tissue (think rheumatoid
arthritis, glomerulonephritis, rheumatic heart disease,
autoimmune thyroiditis, etc.) So it’s a good idea to
know what how the immune set-up is effected by the
functions of “primary cilia” Who knows, maybe we can
manipulate them to enhance the immune system so if we
have some type of overpowering infection (bacterial, virus,
or even cancers) we can knock out the “offending” agent...

All in all, another reminder of how much we know, how much
we didn’t know, and man!, are we complex or what.
