Betty White says she usually keeps her political views private but in this presidential election strongly favors one candidate.
As she prepares to visit the Smithsonian Institution and National Zoo next week, White told The Associated Press she "very, very much favors" President Barack Obama in the election.
The 90-year-old actress said Friday she is very bi-partisan and has stayed away from politics all of her life. She usually never says who she is for or against because she doesn't want to turn off any of her adoring fans.

She’s always been a lib, although not particularly vocal about it. I frankly lost any respect I once had for her when she started taking up this whole cutesy “old lady talks dirty” cliche, which I tend to find really, really tiresome and unfunny. Then, when she called Palin a “bitch” a few years back.... well, all I can say is I’ll be celebrating when I see her name in the obituary columns. Typical Hollywood trash.

You’re mistaken. “Hot in Cleveland” is one of few multi-cam sitcoms to hit big in the last couple years. It’s cheap to shoot and it’s the anchor of its network.
And a hit show is the reason I think she’s voiced her preference for Obama now. Betty White is enjoying a level of popularity she never achieved in her younger years. Actors keep their mouths shut about politics until they think they’re so popular, they’re untouchable with the public. Exhibit A: Clooney. Did we know anything about his politics while he was on E.R.? No.
Now he’s a movie “star” and doesn’t hesitate to flap his soup coolers about his left-wing agenda. And NOBODY goes to see his films. The last nine have been box office bombs. I wonder if it occurs to George just why he can’t seem to make a hit movie?
