The SDS connection to Obama’s boyhood church is instrumental. During the 2008 presidential campaign, Obama notoriously brushed off Ayers’ extremism as irrelevant since most of the Weathermen radical’s violent actions were carried out when Obama was a kid.

“This is a guy [Ayers] who lives in my neighborhood … the notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago – when I was 8 years old – somehow reflects on me and my values doesn’t make much sense,” Obama said in 2008.

Obama, however, likely learned values during his Sunday school days at the First Unitarian in the early 1970s.

Well, as a former business associate of mine once said “The only time God was mentioned in the Unitarian Church is when the janitor slipped on the way down the basement stairs, and it wasn’t in reverential terms.” No surprise on obama, more pieces in the jigsaw puzzle that explain why he is the way he is and should have never, under any circumstances, been elected to any public office in the U.S., much less the highest office in the land. The biggest mistake in U.S. electoral history. And if the U.S. survives, and the history books actually state the truth, that will surely be presented as such.

My question is, with this background and his natural arrogance, will O be able to accept a political defeat this Fall? I know it is likely he will win but the other is possible at this point. Having personally suffered through the 60’s and their political aftermath, I have the sinking feeling that “they” have won in the end.

I wonder who is really responsible for feeding this kid some of the crazy notions he has in his head. Until ten, I understand he was with his mother in Indonesia. Although she was goofy, I doubt that she influenced him much in political matters. At 10, he was shipped home to live with the grandmother and grandfather. This is where he learned the goofy stuff from either the grandfather or the grandmother, or both I suspect. I wasn’t interested in his life enough to read about it. I read just enough to know that his grandfather had socialist leanings and his grandmother taught at Berkley.
