How closely will art imitate life? NBC says its rolling out a new sitcom next season about life in the White House, written by former Obama speechwriter Jon Lovett, the BBC reported.
1600 Penn will profile a fictional First Family, featuring Bill Pullman as the Commander in Chief and Dharma & Greg star Jenna Elfman as the First Lady, as well as The Book of Mormons Josh Gad as their eldest son and Modern Family director Jason Winer.

At first I had a picture of this guy:
But that's Jon LOVITZ not Jon Lovett.
Might make a better show, though.
Satire has a hard time keeping up with the day-to-day headlines out of the ‘real’ White House, these days...
It doesn’t begin until mid-season which is January way after the election.
Bill Pullman only if he kills aliens.
Hey, I bet the prez in this sitcom will be quoting Friedman, Hayek, Sowell, Burke and a few others. He’ll have copies of National Review prominently displayed on his desk in the Oval Office with the flag of Israel next to a statue of Jesus in his den at his vacation home. He’ll be a huge proponent of free market economics and a strong military. Whaddya bet? (smirk)
Should be an easy show to write since the whole administration is nothing but a joke.
So the president will be a white male, with a traditional family. Meant to satire President Romney like That’s My Bush? Could this mean that a former Obama speechwriter doesn’t think Obama will be reelected?
That’s what I concluded. This is only funny and timely if Romney wins. Otherwise, why do you need someone who is experienced with “Book of Mormon”?
