George Zimmerman prosecutors file list of witnesses, evidence in Trayvon Martin shooting

SANFORD – As the world eagerly awaits the release of never-before-seen evidence in the case against George Zimmerman, employees for Special Prosecutor Angela Corey late this afternoon provided a preview in the form of an eight-page document.

The paperwork, filed with the Seminole County clerk as closing time approached, listed several witnesses the state plans to call and identified several pieces of the evidence prosecutors expect to use in their scond-degree murder case against Zimmerman.

Most names were redacted from the document, but six civilian witnesses were listed: Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin — parents of the alleged victim, Trayvon Martin — as well as Trayvon's brother, Jahvarius Fulton; Zimmerman's neighbor, Frank Taaffe; his friend, Joe Oliver; and his father, Robert Zimmerman.

The document listed 18 Sanford police officers as primary witnesses, including lead Investigator Chris Serino. Corey's office also turned over five reports prepared by him, as well as written reports prepared by four other Sanford officers.

According to the documents, prosecutors also have new video evidence from the night of the shooting — both from the 7-Eleven store where Trayvon purchased Skittles and Arizona iced tea, and from the clubhouse of Retreat at Twin Lakes, the apartment complex where the teen was killed.

Other video evidence, which shows Zimmerman being taken into Sanford Police Department headquarters after the shooting, has already been made public. Crime scene photos of both Zimmerman and the teen are also listed in the documents filed Monday.

Also included in the evidence, according to the new filing, are phone records — Zimmerman's from March 7 to March 22, Trayvon's from January 1 through March 1, and those of an unnamed witness labeled "W8" from February 26 through April 2. Zimmerman's medical records are listed, as are records of his 2005 arrest and domestic-violence injunctions.

Going out on a limb here: They couldn't come up with anything that would qualify as evidence in a court of law. If there were, they would have leaked it to the "narrative" media by now. (I don't call it the news media anymore.)

Interesting cast of characters there. I was not aware that Martin’s parents or his brother were witnesses to this event or do they possess ESP. There is this nagging thing called relevance about a witness. The scientific people, well, they have a legitimate role to play. I guess the 7/11 video is to begin a time line perhaps bolstered by the video from the club house. Still the facts remain, there are few if any eye ball witnesses and I don’t see any listed in the prosecution’s listing.

It appears that none of these “witnesses” actually witnessed the physical altercation between the two that led to the shooting. It sounds like the prosecution doesn’t have a strong case.

Their case seems to boil down to:

1) trying to pick out statements here and there from Zimmerman’s discussions with the police and frame the statements as inconsistent and therefore that Zimmerman is a liar and

2) the prosecution will need the girlfriend to say she “heard” Zimmerman attack Martin and then the jury will be asked to choose between the word of the black teenage girl on the cellphone and the word of the white-hispanic lying cracker Zimmerman.

I suppose you could try to finesse the relevance issue by asking the parents to identify the photos of their kid, but you'd have a probative versus prejudicial issue there...

Then again, it might be interesting to get them on the stand and ask them about their son's jewelry collection and the specifics of their involvement with Mr. Crump. Then there's dad's "It's not my kid's voice" pre-Crump statement .

Angela, Angela. Where did you get your Law Degree, Mombasa Univ. Correspondence School? And 'Angie' how the heck did you ever pass the FL Bar? And I don't mean the Kitty-Kat Men's Club 'bar' (okay, times were tough and you needed cash, I get it).

All of your so-called 'evidence' isn't and most of your so-called 'witnesses' aren't. So here's a clue -- get ready to be flooded with motions to SUPPRESS and EXCLUDE 98% everything you have before the trial even starts. And Angie, any judge with an IQ above yours, which isn't much sweetie, WILL GRANT those said motions because they are Irrelevant, Immaterial, and/or Hearsay. In English, that means you can't use it. You'll be left 'maybe', with the two video tapes and they don't mean much either as to the actual case (see: Irrelevant).

Additionally, any first year law school could get those so-called 'Prior Bad Acts' of Zimmermann's suppressed as 'Prejudicial'. Look that one up in a law book dearie, which is blow número uno to your 'case' as to Zimmerman's character.

I haven't studied it closely, but a few observations. 22 witnesses. DeeDee is "W8." Quite a time span between 26 Feb and some witness statements, we can probably figure out which witness is Cutcher, for example.

Ok, first a correct. I said 22 witnesses, but those are the unnamed civilian witnesses. Frank Taffe is a named civilian witness (intimidation factor, by Corey, at work there, you can bet on it).

The custodian of phone records is the phone company. I see the state grabbed ALL of Zimmerman's communications from 7 March to 22 March, texts, videos, notes and photos. Might have taken these off his phone, but the dates don't really line up.

The state did not file the reports with the court. Anything on the list with an asterisk is between Corey and O'Mara; and is by law a public document. According to predictions int he news, O'Mara is going to file the Motion for Protective Order.

Another correction, this time as to which, between Corey and O'Mara, is filing for an Order for Protection of Information. It is Corey.

On Monday, Corey's office filed a motion under seal, asking that certain information in the case be protected from public disclosure. It's not clear whether she wants more than witness names kept secret. O'Mara said he was not sure whether he would file a similar motion.

Madame Corey Defarge knows full well much of her "evidence" will be inadmissable. She's listing everything she can, real or imaginary to play to the public and taint the potential jury pool beforehand through the corrupt media.

From the looks of things, at trial she will throw all the mud evidence and the mud witnesses she can muster to the jury panel in the hopes at least some of the slime will stick.

She is wily. She knows how to play the game....which in this case is that it's NOT THE FACTS in her prosecution at trial which count, but it's just GOOD INTENTIONS AND THE SERIOUSNESS OF THE CHARGES which should be considered for a "guilty" verdict.

I wonder what the clubhouse video shows? Could be Trayvon walking. Could be Trayvon walking right past GZ’s truck when GZ was on the phone. Could be audio of the shot fired to establish a timeline. Could be almost anything.

Speaking of American cities being burnt to the ground, this whole Trayvon debacle has got me thinking back to the Los Angeles riots. There was a black mayor at the time and a white police chief. There seems to have been bad blood between them. As I recall there was a period of hours when there was no police presence at the scene of the rioting. Does anyone know what happened in that period of hours? Has anyone ever heard of what went on behind the scenes?
