It looks that way. In the CBS/NY Times poll released tonight Romney is leading Obama among registered women voters by two points (46 - 44). That's an eight point switch from last month when Obama was up by six points among registered women voters (43- 49.)

Obama’s going down. His sudden focus on gay marriage is a desperation move to raise cash from the far left and to change the topic from the economy and the likely rollback of Obamacare by SCOTUS.

And how’s Romney going to answer this question in the debates? Somehow I doubt he knocks it out of the park like Santorum would have. He is the only Republican candidate who could possibly fail to capitalize properly on this issue. Romney and the RNC’s whole strategy was to appeal to gays by being moderate on the issue. Now he just looks like liberal lite compared to liberal Obama. He wants gay adoptions and doesn’t want a national constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage. It’ll be hard for anyone to tell what exactly he’s against. And conservatives need to call him out now on the cop out “I believe a marriage is between a man and a woman.” That’s the same thing Obama said and it’s meaningless, because it says nothing about what laws and policies you’ll put in place. You can believe what you want, but that is an intentional dodge to avoid saying what you’ll actually do.
