Zimmerman’s father: Our lives will never be the same (Family on the run in Obama's America)
The Miami Herald ^ | Monday, May 14, 2012 | Frances Robles

Robert Zimmerman is a retired magistrate living like a fugitive.

He stays in hotels under assumed names. He pays cash so no one will look at his surname and make the connection: This is the father of one of the nation’s most controversial murder defendants.

“It’s been unimaginable,” he said Monday. “Our lives will never be the same.”

Zimmerman, 64, is the father of George Zimmerman, the Central Florida neighborhood watch volunteer who faces a second-degree murder charge for the Feb. 26 killing of Miami Gardens teen Trayvon Martin.

The high school student’s death exploded into a politically volatile case, the kind that drives thousands to the streets in protest — the kind that brings hate mail. Rattled by death threats and shaken by personal information posted on the web, Zimmerman, his wife and his mother-in-law with Alzheimer’s are now on the run, waiting for the trial they are convinced will exonerate their son.

“All of a sudden, it’s pack up what you can and leave,” he said. “Staying in this hotel room or that hotel room.”

His life upside down and expenses soaring, the retired magistrate wants the public to be clear that he has not received a cent of donations from anyone, despite the $204,000 his son has amassed through a website to help pay for his defense. In an interview with the Miami Herald, Zimmerman criticized the media, prosecutors and attorneys who he says have distorted information and spread lies about a man who mentored black kids and was deeply committed to his community. The Virginia native said he’s sure of one thing: his son’s innocence.

I’m surprised we haven’t found out the names of those who doctored the audio and video at NBC and ABC. I believe they could be charged with either hate crimes or some form of incitement.

At the very least, Zimmerman should bring a civil suit. He’s easily been defamed IMHO.

So, why doesn’t the FBI and the state of Florida investigate Trayvon Martin’s reacial profiling and hate crime against George Zimmerman, the man who was lawfully directing the police to investigate a potential suspect in the multiple burglaries of niehbors representing all races, including African-Americans or Black A,ericans? Trayvon Martin evidently assumed George Zimmerman was unarmed and vulnerable enough to be assaulted viciously enough to threatent the murder of George Zimmerman.

Some places have Magisterial District Judges , it’s just a different name for Justice of the Peace or Alderman. We just call them magistrates.

http://www.york-county.org/departments/courts/dj.htm

Magisterial District Court is the first level of judicial authority in Pennsylvania and is the court where most people experience the judicial system for the first time. Magisterial District Judges handle all traffic cases, other minor criminal cases and civil cases involving amounts up to $12,000. District Justices also set bail and conduct preliminary hearings in misdemeanor and felony criminal cases to determine if the cases should be dismissed or transferred to the Court of Common Pleas for further proceedings.

This is a good argument for dual citizenship.

His mother was a Peruvian citizen, and if she had registered his birth, he could have become a dual citizen automatically, and he and his family could flee there and ask for Political asylum.

Obama’s flip flop on gay marriage upset the moral Afro American community, and he planned to do that at the convention, so I suspect that he and his cronies decided to use a “hate crime” to manipulate the Afro american community to back him no matter what...

This is why this upcoming election is so very important. This nonsense under Obama has to stop.

If true ,that is just about the worst case of false use of the law that I have ever heard of.

A decade ago I imagined a future in which over the course of a couple of generations, America would transform from a free country to a thuggish dictatorship. I never would have imagined that the ordinary level of vote fraud by Dems would allow a thoroughly corrupt but petty thug to take over our government in so short a time. The legal railroading of George Zimmerman is disgusting beyond words.

What the heck are you babbling? Zimmerman’s father is an “idiot” because his life has been changed due to his son being railroaded?

What are you smoking?

I’m sorry I messed up. I was thinking the quote was attributable to Trayvon’s dad. Not smoking anything (I don’t) but reading comprehension, guilty.

Crimoniny! I KNOW the meaning of magistrate. My question was that (despite being in the constant news) this is the first time that I’ve heard that Zimmerman’s father is/was a “magistrate” — a judicial occupation. This is like learning that Joren Van der Sloot’s father was “studying to be a judge”.

Hang in there, Zimmermans. Very soon you will be rich beyond your belief. There's some community agitators, some networks and a department of justice that owes you, big time.

In Spaniard countries judges are called magistrates.

Magistrates have been part of American jurisprudence almost since the founding of America.
