Deception Fatigue
American Thinker ^ | 5/15/12 | John Griffing

Over the past three years, President Obama has demonstrated his willingness to lie about anything and everything if it leads to the acquisition and retention of maximum power for himself and his cohorts. Obama follows a pattern of overloading the system with deception, making responses to every individual distortion impractical or outright impossible. While Obama's opponents spend their precious time addressing each new lie, Obama keeps the focus off the end-zone, and seizures of power previously unthinkable are accomplished.

At some point, citizens grow weary of hearing that their leaders are out for their ill, that political policies are nothing more than grand deceptions. Who wants to believe that his president is a serial liar that seeks to impose full Socialism on the land of the free? Some truths are too big to contemplate -- an observation that would lead one of the world's most successful propagandists to write:

"It would never come into their [the people's] heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation." (Mein Kampf)

I find myself in that same mindset often - hesitant to believe someone could deliberately be so conniving. Getting too hard to believe otherwise.

If a white president had done the things that this president has done, he would have been impeached. Just saying.

Like the old saying, repeat a lie often enough, and eventually it becomes a truth.

Obama is the lie that’s been repeated for the last 3 years, and the American people are going weary of it because they know better. At least, I’d like to think they know better, but we’ll find that out in November.

And then there's Obama insisting he did not have ties to ACORN, despite his following statement:

I've been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career. Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work.

It must take true audacity to contradict your own statements on recorded media and simply not care if anyone notices. What can be gained if a liar is caught lying? If a liar is lying fast enough and often enough, then the answer is: everything.

The MSM helps with this one - they don't hold dem liars accountable for lies... If the country is destroyed much of the blame will lie at the feet of the press...

Obama freely lies and deceives because the corrupt MSM allow him to. Thirteen “reporters” are assigned to investigate Sarah Palin’s book. Obama makes patently obvious deceptive comments and outright lies and the corrupt MSM says then accuse Republicans of trying to leverage partisan political advantage by pointing out the obvious lies of Obama, thus laying any blame at Republican’s feet.

The MSM are no longer detached and honest brokers of information; they are totally partisan and thoroughly corrupt.

If a GOP president had done the things Bill and Hillary did the MSM coverage would have forced him from office

Nothing new here

The MSM is the main reason we are going down the tubes

Amen. This administration has drastically changed me. I view everything I'm told by anyone other than my husband as a lie until I see definitive proof. I was never this skeptical or cynical.
