My GGG-Grandfather was a member of the Frontier Cavalry. He was responsible for securing the Frontier and killing Indian raiders ... There isn't anything I can do about it, it's part of my history. But he did help provide a safe, secure Texas in which to live, and for that I am grateful. (I guess I won't be offered a job at Harvard)

(If it has the slimmest of chances of being considered sarcasm ... IT IS!)

My mother had a first cousin who was married to a full-blooded Arapaho Indian. My grandfather's sister's husband was the step-son of a former Indian scout. I have some fourth or fifth cousins who appear on the Cherokee rolls.
My claim to minority status is at least as good as Elizabeth Warren's.
