Maybe he should open his restaurants up to feed the poor. Most of the hard working middle class cannot even afford to eat at his restaurants after a long hard day of working to support these folks on food stamps that don't work at all.

The guy would be amazed at what family can be well fed on for a week on food stamps if properly done.

The fat ass needs to lose weight, but judging by the number of fat people on food stamps, that’s not going to happen.

Subsisting on food stamps, especially when food is made from scratch, is doable, he said, "as a way to live, but certainly not as a way to thrive. You can always have pasta with tomato, but that's not thriving."

Food stamps don't exist for people to thrive. They exist so people won't starve.

It would be better for this guy's health if he ate the food stamps for a few weeks instead of buying more food with them. He looks like a walking coronary.

Does that include the huge birthday cakes, steaks and other expensive items I often see food stamp recipients buy at the supermarket?

Food stamp recipients live large on the taxpayer dime I feed my family of three on less than the $200 per month a single person with no other income receives. The problem is feeding the addictions I have seen people buy food items with their food stamps and ferment it into hooch to have something to drink.

So, their diet will consist of cheetos, sodas, frozen pizza & steaks?

During the challenge does he get to drive an Escolade with bling bling rims like most of the food stamp recipient I’ve seen?

My daughter and sonIL had to go on food stamps for two months, 2 parents and 2 kids, they got $800 a month.
If he is getting $200 for the four of them he will be eating like a king.

Whaaaa, what a big baby. Welcome to the real world. That's not welfare meals, that's regular folk meals he and his snotty wife are having to choke down. Couldn't stand him long before this:

BTW, a few days ago I pulled a beef roast out of the freezer that I'd bought on sale for about $2/lb. The garden provided the sides of fresh peas, mustard greens, spring onions and a nice salad. We dined on leftovers for another couple meals. Then I added some onion and 3 frozen mushrooms (99 cents a carton on sale) to the last bit of roast and it's juices to make hot sandwiches. That was some good eats!

I hope he puts together an imitation gourmet, stamp book cookbook, many of us budget cookers would like that.

One that uses cheap food, powdered seasonings instead of fresh, substitutes such as bulk bullion instead of homemade, limited ingredients instead of sprigs of, little dashes, and tablespoons, of things that the poor don’t buy.

“Goodbye restaurants, free nibbles on his talk show “The Chew” and all the luxe offerings at Eataly, the high-end New York City market he co-owns. Hello Trader Joe’s, Jack’s Dollar Store, Gristedes and Western Beef, a low-cost supermarket chain.”

I shop at Trader Joes because that is what I can afford and I am not on food stamps. This guy is a big fat out of touch liberal who supports Obama and his ilk I hope he chokes on his lentil chilli.

Another feel-good, pat-himself-on-the-back empty leftwing gesture. It accomplishes nothing. Maybe he should just donate the cost of what he eats in one week. It would probably feed a half a dozen families.

“...$31 per person for the week”

That’s the ‘big lie’ at the heart of the campaign.

They get away with this lie because it is the average benefit- when those reciving partial payments are included.
IE: including people who make plenty of money to buy food and yet still get some food stamps because the program is so generous.

And, of course, because media makes it’s money by selling ads to producers of food stamp products...

I heard this pony-tailed moonbat Mario refused to let the waiters at his Manhattan restaurants serve anyone wearing GOP credentials around their necks during the Republican National Convention in NYC in 2004.
