Democrat - 830,502
Republican - 671,329
Nonpartisan & minor other parties- 551,724

Democrat:
Obama - 252,621
Other write-ins - 13,456

Republican:
Rick Santorum - 23,024
Ron Paul - 31,356
Newt Gingrich - 13,753
Mitt Romney - 180,411
Write-in Votes - 3,366

Rick and Newt still pullin' votes.

It'll be an interesting convention.

I voted for Ron Paul in NC... simply a protest vote at this point. I would have voted for Newt but he wasn’t running.

What is interesting is how in Democratic primaries we’re seeing people vote for someone other than Obama.

Democrat:
Obama - 252,621
Other write-ins - 13,456

13,456 us over 5% of the total vote.

These are Democrats who not only had to go out of their way to vote in a meaningless primary (I assume Obama was the only candidate on the Dem ballot), but took the extra trouble to write in a candidate.
