The government wants you to know that simply sporting a pair of Skechers' fitness shoes is not going to get you Kim Kardashian's curves or Brooke Burke's toned tush.

That would have to be one damn big shoebox...
My wife has 3 pairs because they are comfortable. When one pair wears out she buys another one to put into rotation. She likes to walk a minimum of 10 thousand steps per day as part of her exercise program so she uses them a lot. She doesn’t give a toss what the government thinks about them.
Whatever happened to the idea of “Buyer Beware”?
Oh, trial lawyers and nanny state people....
Nevermind
I hate the FTC. Let the markets prevail. “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.’” - Ronald Reagan
I have the Skechers with the ) shaped sole. I’m here to say that I am really, really sorry that I bought them. Their arch support is lousy and they’re annoying to walk in. Waste of my money.
But I don’t need the feds to butt in.
Last year I tore my Achilles tendon and had to have surgery. Prior to the surgery I use to run half marathons and various long distance races. After surgery, my physical therapist instructed me to purchase multiple rocker bottom (toning) style shoes.
The reason was that with my reduced tendon flexibility and calf muscle strength, the rocker bottom of the shoes assisted proper heal-toe foot movement associated with a rolling gate. That allowed me to do more weigh bearing walking and slow jogging exercise. That in turn sped my recovery from surgery.
I have read some scientific studies that show that the rocker bottom shoes can in some “limited” situations aid in building leg or butt muscle, but only for people who are not really “fit.”
So, as with most things in life, I feel that the truth lies between what Sketchers and the Government are both saying. I think that the shoe company is guilty of marketing based on a “half truth” or not explicitly stating who are the kind of people who would most benefit from the type of shoe.
I still use my rocker bottom shoes, even though I am now running races again, but I use them on recovery days when I will only be walking, not as a way of building muscle.
Yeah, people hack on her for having no talent, when her talent is being hot.
And she is very talented.
