Rabbi’s speech called hateful (because he expressed Conservative views).

A rabbi’s declaration that he is an “Islamaphobe” and an accompanying speech at a Tea Party forum in San Mateo earlier this month has been called racist and hateful by the state chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Rabbi Nachum Shifren and all the other candidates for U.S. Senate were invited to a candidate’s forum May 3 at the American Legion Hall in San Mateo, co-sponsored by the San Mateo County Republican Party and My Liberty, a local Tea Party group.

Shifren told a cheering audience, “I am an Islamaphobe and everything we need to know about Islam, we learned on 9/11.”

Segments of his seven-minute speech have been posted on YouTube.

When asked directly by the Daily Journal Tuesday, Shifren responded: “Did I say that?”

He told the Daily Journal that he is not an Islamaphobe but stood by his comments about 9/11.

“I may have made the comment in the heat of the moment,” Shifren said. “I’m a Jew. I hate no one. I’m not a racist. I don’t hate Muslims.”

The group calling him a racist, CAIR, might be racist themselves, Shifren said.

San Mateo is on the Peninsula, about 20 miles south of San Francisco - and everything which that implies. Hence, it is not too hard to figure out what "take" this newspaper would tend to have on this type of story. The dominant liberals in this area say things MUCH more hateful than this about Christians and Conservatives on a regular basis - but do THEY get accoused of so-called "hate" crimes?? No. The concept of a "hate crime" exists solely to allow liberals to bring legal charges against anyone who disagrees with them, and thereby intimidate them.

Actually, the Truth has become hate speech. It is why Mao instituted PC and “allowed” certain ideas only......and the leftist instituted “hate speech” in America.

It is to control speech (unconstitutional) and determine worldview. What people hear over and over and over becomes the “truth”. Hitler/Goebbels etc. knew that as did the syphilitic Lenin who took control of the minds of all the children. Pavlov was a one time friend of his.

Worldview is shaped in childhood, btw, but anyone can have their perceptions changed by what they see and hear constantly. Media and schools promote the Big Lie—Marxism/socialism 24/7. Truth has a special ring, though, and HAS to be SHUT DOWN in Winston’s world where there is a Ministry of Truth.

Known him for a long time. Rabbi Shifrin would be the kind of man needed to shake things up here.

The California Republican Party won’t touch him with a ten foot pole though.

Might? Might be racist? CAIR hates Israel, hates Jews, hates conservatives...

Islamophobia: Thought Crime of the Totalitarian Future

“Islamophobia” is a term originally coined by the Muslim Brotherhood as part of a campaign to advance their totalitarian cause by stigmatizing and silencing those who oppose them. The celebrated novelist Salman Rushdie (himself subjected to a death sentence for, in effect, being an “Islamophobe”) and his fellow writers have it exactly right in their manifesto “Together Facing the New Totalitarianism,” when they say, “We refuse to renounce our critical spirit out of fear of being accused of ‘Islamophobia’, a wretched concept that confuses criticism of Islam as a religion with stigmatization of those who believe in it.” Or as the satirist Andrew Klavan has defined it – “Islamophobia: the irrational fear of having your head chopped off.”

There is indeed a threat from Muslim fanatics who are not few in number, and it is in the interest of those fanatics to label those who oppose them hostile to all Muslims and thus to deflect attention from their malign intentions. Several of the authors of the Think Progress attack on Spencer and Horowitz and their colleagues are supporters and apologists for Hamas, Hizbollah and other Muslim terrorist organizations.

In their new pamphlet, Islamophobia: Thought Crime of the Totalitarian Future, Horowitz and Spencer have created what amounts to a biography of this malign concept. Their work shows how the term “Islamophobia” originated with the Muslim Brotherhood, is connected to violent protests over cartoons about Mohammed, the growing number of blasphemy laws in Europe, resolutions against this “form of racism” in the UN, and prosecutions of notable opponents of Islamic terror such as Oriana Fallaci and Geert Wilders. They show, too, how what began as a political strategy by the Muslim Brotherhood has now spread to American higher education and has, like political correctness and other such mad experiments cultured in the campus laboratory, the potential to break out into the larger political culture.

“Islamophobia” is a hoax comparable to The Protocols of The Elders of Zion. As Horowitz and Spencer show in this important work, it is an effort to protect Islamic terror by silencing its critics through a direct assault on the Bill of Rights.

Why won't the Republican party touch him? Just from his title sounds like a fine person to demonstrate how the caricature of the Republican party as the Christian party is not completely true. Or is it that the Republican establishment is allergic to religion?

The CA GOP has been neutered. It is non-existant and the state is a one party state. The Democrats run everything here and what is left of the Republicans here are only concerned with their little fiefdoms and little else.
