WASHINGTON A group of high-profile Republican strategists is working with a conservative billionaire on a proposal to mount one of the most provocative campaigns of the super PAC era and attack President Obama in ways that Republicans have so far shied away
Timed to upend the Democratic National Convention in September, the plan would do exactly what John McCain would not let us do, the strategists wrote.

That’s all I needed to read. Rove, you magnificent B@stard.
Welcome to FR.
Do you think they’ll be able to withstand the screaches and howls from the left about being “racist” and “uncivil”?
Why have they been doing this for 4 years? lol
Be still, my beating heart. We need to bury Obama and the Democrats in the biggest landslide in history. This will help.
Yes, talk about Jeremiah Wright, but make it part of a broader look at the racial favoritism of the Obama administration. Talk about Eric Holder and his embrace of Al Sharpton. Talk about the New Black Panthers. Talk about racial preferences for medical schools in Obamacare, and racial preferences in Dodd-Frank. Talk about double standards in “hate crimes” prosecutions.
We’re being called that anyway. So, why shy away from this
My spidey senses tell me this story is full of Biden.
Forgive me for being suspicious. I just don't trust anything The Times writes.
Yes! And a lot more, I hope, but they need to find the leak and plug it, pronto. The termite enemies are everywhere and will use any means to discredit such an attack and any conservative supporters.
I’ll believe it when I see it.
Be a good idea to get a likeable trustworthy candidate at the top of the list too. A billionaire who cares can get that done eh.
This may be walking through a mine field. Wright is old news, and takes the focus off of Obama’s record while in office. The American voter needs to be reminded of that fact over and over. They have already elected Obama in 2008, that is when this should have been used. Bringing it up now looks like sour grapes. I agree it is what defines who Obama is but like I said he is in office, has been for 3 1/2 years you can not redo 2008.
Talk about his racism,
and also define terms - what is “social justice”?
How does 0bama see it implemented? And what will America look like if it is implemented?
Many Americans have NO idea this stuff is out there. It’s not preaching to the choir. It’s getting the word out, informing the (mostly ignorant) masses
the truly alarming part is that these nimrods believe they have to “weigh” whether or not they want to win....
I want to see the GOP fight like they mean it!
The NY Times is trying to scare the This PAC into backing off. Notice how the article suggests any discussion of Wright and Obama’s relationship and black liberation theology is racist. Also, notice the ad plan was leaked to the NY Times by a “concerned person”.
[The document makes clear that the effort is only in the planning stages and awaiting full approval from Mr. Ricketts. People involved in the planning said the publicity now certain to surround it could send the strategists back to the drawing board.]
You ar right. The only time Wright should be used is in a direct link to Obama’s record.
