It’s been done. In the 70’s, a San Francisco attorney, William Holguin, was a member of the state bar and practiced immigration law for years before being outed and arrested. He got a slap on the wrist and returned to practice. He couldn’t possibly be the only one.
A ruling will only make legal what’s been in place for decades.
