Protesters [all 8] call for end to oil pipelines in Canada, U.S.

Protesters lay down in the middle of Stetson Avenue and Lake Street and smeared “oil” on their bodies Thursday to protest the building of pipelines in Canada and the United States.

Dressed in bathing suits, shorts and jeans, four women and four men reached into a 100-foot-long plastic prop of an oil pipeline and rubbed the dark substance — actually vegetable oil, corn starch, flour and chocolate syrup — into their bare skin and clothes.

Then, they lay “dead” to illustrate the damage they said pipelines cause.

“Shut it down,” the environmentalists screamed. “Get up, get down. We need clean energy in this town.”

“These are being developed in areas where there is wildlife that doesn’t exist anywhere else, with polar bears and wolves,” said Nathan Titus, 28, of Occupy Montana. “We are pretty much for the environment, so that would mean we’re against anything that would destroy it.”

Cornwall: recycling bins 'littering the countryside' ......."Environmentalists claim the 'kerbside collection' will save carbon and money by separating the materials, therefore making it much easier to recycle and more valuable.

But there have been teething difficulties in Cornwall where residents are used to one wheelie bin or live on typical narrow lanes. Households have had to wait over a week for collections, causing complaints and fears of encouraging rats and seagulls.

Mr Madeley said it is leading to different coloured bins littering the one of the most popular tourist spots in the UK as residents wait for their collections.

At his holiday home in Talland Bay near Looe, where he stays with his wife Judy Finnigan and family, he said the system is destroying the beautiful countryside.

"It is a disgrace and I'm furious that this has been allowed to happen."

An increasing number of councils are forcing residents to separate recycling into five or more bins in order to meet EU-imposed targets to recycle, compost or re-use 50 per cent of waste by 2020.

Already more than 100 town halls ask residents to sort rubbish into five or more bins and households in Newcastle under-Lyme have nine separate bins, causing similar problems to Cornwall."......

Idiots. The fact that they are able to live the lives they do is made possible by oil pipelines.

Note that this is just the major ones.

Environmental damage? I don’t see it. There is a pipelin about 10 miles from me that carries fuel into DC. It runs along the same route as the high electrical lines, was put in about 40 years ago, and probably half the population around here do not even know it is there.

Once in it is innocuous. It is underground, unseen, and unbothered.

There are 160,000 miles of pipeline crisscrossing the United States today. The Keystone pipeline is 1,700 miles from the one source of oil outside the US that is secure as our own oil. The Keystone will be built with 2011 technology and will carry oil not only from the Canada oil sands, but from the Bakken oil shale in North Dakota and Montana. The amount of oil flowing through the pipeline would represent 4.5% of our annual usage. Montana Governor is Brian Schweitzer (D

Protesters [all 8] call....

8? That seems to be the magic number for the lunatics. That's how many "rabid" protesters showed up to protest Jamie Dimon in Tampa!

This idiots's names and addresses should be published.

Any private enterprise in the following businesses, whose product comes from oil pipelines, should NOT SELL to these morons:

1. Gasoline

2. Food

3. Consumer electronics

4. Drugs / condoms / birth control

5. Cars

6. Bicycles

A bunch of anti-societal morons who should be locked up for disturbing the peace of decent people.
