Beyond 'Battleship'

Jacqueline Carrizosa can say she's doubled for the sexiest woman alive.

The 22-year-old U.S. Navy veteran and Las Vegas resident was a stunt double for Rihanna and taught the singer, model and now movie star how to act like a weapon-wielding sailor for the movie "Battleship," which opens nationwide this weekend.

"She really wanted to learn everything she could and asked a lot of questions," Carrizosa said. "I gave her some lessons on how we deal with deadly force in the Navy. I wanted to instill some professionalism behind her character."

Check out the new "NWUs" the Nav's now got sailors wearing. Never thought I'd see the USN adopt USMC regs; I'm sure all those pockets are handier than the old dungarees, but that camo's going to make you harder to spot if you go overboard. $;-)

If no Marines are available launch a Tomahawk from over-the-horizon.

As a 26-year veteran (6 active duty, in my 20th in the Air Force Reserves), I appreciate your comments. Mine was just that she’s really young to be a veteran already, and I wish we’d been able to keep such an obviously highly-trained and competent service member in the ranks.

And thanks for your family’s sacrifice and service.

Colonel, USAFR

I don't have any problem with stuff like this...

Other than the fact that most normal people call them "Tramp Stamps?"

I would not want any daughter of mine having one at any, age.

Early reviews said this movie is a piece of crap, it opened overseas so that bad US reviews didn’t spoil the overseas market.

Don't know about this one, but last week I went to see Avengers, and I actually fell asleep, LOL.

Film makers have not caught on that visuals without plot, continuity and some sense of realism appleals only to kiddies and gamers. But I repeat myself.

I kinda liked Battleship. Enjoyed watching the Missouri go into battle. Although I have to concede that the notion of getting it out of mothball status and into action in one afternoon strains credulity, to say the least.

It was better than Avengers.

I saw it today. It was an enjoyable shoot-em-up, although it required extreme suspension-of-disbelief.

The alien weaponry was stupid. An interstellar culture whose weapons cannot dynamically track a moving ship?

And the idea that a mothballed USS Missouri, operating as a museum with daily tour groups, would just happen to have live ordinance and ammunition on board to go into action with, is just nuts.

Rihanna is nowhere near the "sexiest alive", but it figures that the far-left, Obama-ass-kissing rag called Esquire would think she was. Their pictorial makes her look like a depraved, heroin-addled whore. It is pathetic to behold.

Good afternoon.

The 22-year-old U.S. Navy veteran ...

Three items: One, a Navy vet at 22 years of age? Two, even if she is a veteran at 22, that is not much experience (combat or otherwise). Three, I wouldn't take ANY advice from a Squid anyway.

INCOMING...!

5.56mm

Why would a squid wear camouflage BDUs? Naval ships are gray are they not? Makes them harder to find on liberty I guess.
