This city council person is a front runner in the next mayor election in New York.
I’m sure it will make homosexual history when they can claim that the mayor of America’s largest city is gay, and legally married as well.

Houston’s gay mayor may already be married. I remember something about it when some state New Hampshire ? maybe, allowed gay couples to marry. But of course coming from NY it will make bigger news.

It makes me hopeful that Police Comissioner Ray Kelly might run.
She isn't a lock to win, at this point, there are a few potential Democrat challengers, some stronger than others.
OTOH, I believe she'll have Bloomberg's backing in exchange for her support of his (and her own) third term in office. She would have been the frontrunner for mayor four years ago as well.
