I am not in the camp who believes that Romney can win.

It would be foolish to conclude now that Romney can't win.

Obama is unliked and struggling and making mistakes, and economic and other conditions are unfavorable to him.

It is clearly possible for Romney to win.

I do not see how. When his Left of Kennedy statements hit the airwaves, any chance a GOP candidate would have had will evaporate.

The only people talking about Romney’s “left of Kennedy statements” are self-described “conservatives” who want Obama to win.

“I am not in the camp who believes Romney can win”

Ditto here. all this “gotta take one for the team” talk is based on some flailing hope that Romney has a chance in November.

Well, Romney is NOT going to win, and the only question remains is whether Obama will trounce him enough to call the margin of victory a “mandate.” Voters, dim as they often can be, know something is amiss in this country, but aren`t sold on the idea Romney`s is the right medicine. So, without a clear understanding of why Romney`s the better choice, they`re going to stay with the devil they know... especially one who gives them “free” stuff.

Romney generates no excitement beyond “ABO,” and very rarely are elections won based simply on getting the incumbent out of office. It was an ingredient in what brought the defeat of Jimmy Carter, but his approval ratings were in the mid-30% range and he faced Reagan. Obama`s at last count, are at an RCP average of 48.9%. Further, he starts at an electoral vote base of around 250, and is facing an astonishingly weak opponent in Romney.

With the impending defeat of the GOP nominee, why is now not as good a time as ever to regroup and re-shape the political landscape by consolidating the conservative movement into another entity?

The marriage with the GOPe is clearly over, so what exactly does clinging to that relationship accomplish? Oh, that`s right.. we`re doing it “for the kids,” aren`t we?

Very goode except for one thing...

America republicans do not want a conservative..
They just trashed a whole load of them.. and
chose the inventor of Romney-Care to fight the inventor of Dohbama-care..

The only one left with a ghost of a chance is Ron Paul..
And he has his Political-Tourettes problem... his mouth don’t work right..

The last line is, of course, wrong. Here in Ohio, Goode’s name will be on the ballot. When I select “Goode” a vote will be registered for Goode. It will not be counted for any other candidate.

It would be vote fraud for the precinct or the elections system to count that vote for anyone other than Goode.

We have discussed vote fraud at length on Free Republic, and everyone is agreed that a vote for a candidate should be counted for that candidate and not for anyone else. There is unanimity as well that dead people, illegals, and repeat voters should all be much better controlled.

So, I guarantee you about the facts: a vote for Goode is a vote for Goode.

But, perhaps you aren’t talking about facts.

If we’re talking about interpreting voting patterns, then my interpretation is that I’m voting for a future conservative party to get established since it has to get started somewhere and sometime.

As for Obama, I’m not one of those running around thinking he’s the anti-Christ or some other such nonsense.

Oh, the logic classes that have been avoided.

Using that same method, allow me to say, "And those who support Romney are actually leftist, socialism loving, pro-abortion, gay agenda supporters."

Wait a minute...mine could actually be true.

How does Goode's presence in the race force Romney to govern more conservatively if he's elected?

You're the one voting for him...and the one staying in the Rino party...that's your job. But, you will be able to thank us for the favor.

Of course, it's always possible that you are a rino and that you resent anyone pushing Romney to the right.

Ain’t gonna happen, but he does seem to be a good man and what we need. Perhaps, if we survive this next election, and the few after it, we might get on a true conservative track. I can’t hold my breath that long, but I will remain hopeful with you.

Those who are so inclined ought to be more efficient with their money and send donations directly to Obama.

Warning to all ABOer's: If you keep up this constant insults to Goode voters then you are going to force the only other choice for real conservatives, that is to just stay home. You wan that? Think about the senate.

PS: Mitt Milquetoast is never going to defeat the MSM and the Obama machine once it gets rolling. He won't fight, and is proving it ever day.

I don’t want Obama to win. Equally, I believe a Romney win is as bad. Thankfully, if Romney needs my vote in Tennessee, he has already lost. In other states, I imagine the lack of choice, the same candidate from the GOP as from the Dim Party, must be agonizing.

Perot was working with Bill Clinton to divide the vote. Goode is not working with the DNC. Dividing the votes has the same effect but Goode’s heart is in the right place.

Could possibly ever win

If you change your mind, and in talking to all your friends get one of them to change their minds, and they go and do the same....yes. Yes, We The People have the power to overturn the republicrat conceit.

But you have to stop buying into the fear.

(Conservatism is truth. Liberalism is lies.)

The comment is almost hysterical when put against the tagline.

Now, since you are big on "truth", tell us the truth:

Which of the above 3 candidates is the conservative, and which 2 are the liberals?

Simple question, can you answer it without spinning?

A party needs to be built from the ground up....get some Congressmen and Senators in there first, then worry about fielding a Presidential candidate.

I don’t think that’s bad advice, dfw, but that is not how the republican party was formed, so it’s not 100% accurate.

A party being built needs to be at all levels, but, let’s face it, the presidential campaign gives a party great visibility.

Other than that, it would be dishonest for me to disagree with the idea of continuing the push by the party for local, district, and state-level candidates.

Also a new party is going to need some high-profile defections from the other parties....Goode isn’t exactly a household name.
