There are some great youtube videos on how to make zip guns. Is it legal to make one in the US? It should be a state's right issue. Are there any states that allow it?

I watched one video where the guy made a zip gun out of stuff in his shop in about a minute or two, then he disassembled it because he said it was illegal to own.

I want that dude as my gunsmith. Of course, that’s pointless since the boating accident took all my guns.

Did you hear about the person who used a stick to beat someone to death? Sticks definitely should be outlawed.

you have a good point. Humans will modify and innovate.

This is a truck spring that the Poles modified to launch Molotov cocktails at the Germans.

I found it on this fascinating website that has pictures of a Polish military museum. It is astonishing and even has British and American equipment.

Interesting videos. I just watched 2 and yes, I’d be very wary of possessing one, since it’s almost automatic prison time.

Sorry, I didn’t see an WP/LATimes byline anywhere when I posted it earlier this morning. Thanks for fixing it.

Not true; the federal government restrictions are from 1) the power of the interstate commerce clause, and 2) the power to tax. In Rock Island Armory vs. United States, the ATF lost big on the ability to regulate full-auto firearms because 1) their power was taxation-based, and 2) they would not issue the tax-stamp for any new manufacture, which 3) negated all their authority in the matter. The Judge's reasoning was such that the ATF did NOT appeal the case, it is said, because they feared a loss in a circuit-court [meaning multiple states].

Scratching my head here.

I could understand this as a function of concealment.

The weapon (real shotgun) was covered by plastic. One could argue the same about a plastic holster. I guess I’m confused about how putting something onto an existing LEGAL weapon, that in no way alters the function of that weapon, is illegal. Can someone elaborate or explain this to me?

I’m afraid that’s “beyond my pay grade”, tc. If you get a cogent explanation, pls Ping me to it.

Is a toy, water squirt-gun considered a “legal weapon”? Just asking.

It's pretty easy to conceal a firearm.

Are reporters really as stupid as bags of hammers, or are they just required to pretend to be?

Hammers have a purpose, and when they get pi$$ed they have a habit of whacking you.

I would say not a weapon as it does not meet the requirement of discharging a projectile by means of an explosive. It COULD be a distructive device if you say loaded it with acid or flamable (I would think).

Haha gun-control leftist have funny ideas. They think they can simply take control of the legislator and will out of existence the things they hate & demonize.

Not every law can be enforced, fewer still should be enforced.
But leftist seem to think of Government as some kind of God able redefine the nature of the universe including most fundamental the laws of economics. But like every other false God government can’t change the laws of physics, and it is wrong to try.

“Stupid “is the correct answer. Might be room to work in “ignorant “-—As a technical sort of person I’ve demonstrated it hundreds of times. As soon as an event/circumstance/device gets the tiniest bit complex media people are useless. I think he’s retired now but CNN had a guy named Rochelle who really knew aircraft and FAA stuff. He was the only TV person I’d listen to when there was an event involving airplanes——so my main effort is to sound off with extreme humiliation when they start shooting their mouths off in a half-speed sort of way.

You might have to wait until he gets out of jail/prison, sjb, but he’s worth a second look.
