Deval Patrick defends Bain

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick (D) defended Bain in an interview with CNN Tuesday, saying, “I respect what Bain does and its role in the free market system.”

KING: [Clyburn] said Bain Capital rapes companies. He says he can’t support companies that go around “raping companies.”

PATRICK: Look, the question is whether Mitt Romney has what it takes—the preparation and the experience and the empathy—to serve as president of the United States. It’s not about whether Bain is good or bad. I have friends at Bain; I have friends who supported the other candidate in my own campaigns. I respect what Bain does and its role in the free market system.

Rep. James Clyburn (D., S.C.) described Bain Capital as “raping companies” in an interview Tuesday with MSNBC. An Obama campaign spokesperson later said the remarks were “inappropriate.”

Why do I get the idea that these Dems that are going off the reservation and defending Bain have received heavy contributions from them. I understand Booker had received a total of $240,000 in past contributions from Bain.Bain is based in Mass and Patrick is its governor.I do think private equity definitely serves a purpose and Bain was a reputable company in the field. But I do not think that is the real reason why some of these Dems went off the reservation to defend Bain.Dems are not motivated by altruism. Color me cynical but I wonder whether they would have been defending Bain were it not for the contributions.

Deval Patrick, Romney, and BAIN are ALL for the 911 Victory Mosque.

In fact, the most prominent national Democrat to offer a positive case for the project is the embattled,
first-term governor of Massachusetts, Deval Patrick.

"(The GroundZero Mosque) cleared its final hurdle ….
developers plan to build the $100 million center which will include a mosque.
Since its incipient stages in July 2009, when a Muslim-run real-estate development
company purchased the damaged, vacant building and land where the new center
will be built, the project has sparked controversy and debate.
.... the tattered building that was bought by the Muslim real estate company had
been owned by a subsidiary of Bain Capital, a company Romney founded in 1984.

So it's OK if his company can profit off the sale of the land ."

"Bain Capital, has cut checks totaling $90,000 to Romney's operation. "

Ground Zero mosque developers apply for federal grant
The developers behind the proposed Ground Zero mosque have applied
for about $5 million in federal grant money set aside for redeveloping
downtown Manhattan after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks....
run by the Lower Manhattan Redevelopment Corp.

This is so much fun, but I’m running low on popcorn! Amazing that some freepers don’t see the good in Democrats fighting among themselves over capitalism. There is no downside.
