The Office of Attorney General Kenneth T. Cuccinelli, II, in conjunction with the Department of Criminal Justice Services and the Virginia Gang Investigators Association, presents:

2012 COMMUNITY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT GANG TRAINING

Wednesday, May 16, 2012 - Radford University - 801 East Main St. Radford, VA 24142 - 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Thursday, May 24, 2012 - Roanoke College - 240 North Market St. Salem VA 24153 - 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Monday, June 4, 2012 - Christopher Newport University - 1 University Place Newport News, VA 23606 - 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Wednesday, June 6, 2012 - Blue Ridge Community College - One College Lane Weyers Cave, Virginia 24486 - 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Thursday, July 12, 2012 - Northern Virginia Community College - 3001 N. Beauregard Street Alexandria, VA 22311 - 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The free training will feature breakout sessions.

Educational materials will be given to all attendees, including a copy of The Wrong Family and The Big Lie DVDs, produced by the attorney general's office. This all day training is intended for law enforcement AND members of the community. Ideal attendees are School Resource Officers, officers who work with kids or gang members, juvenile probation officers, teachers, counselors, or any other community personnel who work with kids or gang members.

This training qualifies for 2 legal, 6.25 career development, and 2 cultural diversity PIC hours and 1.5 CLE credits.

It would be interesting for a FReeper to attend and report on what the LEO community is saying / doing in this area. Especially so since VA seems to have events like this fairly regularly:
