Obama suffers defections in Ark. and Ky. primaries

President Obama headed toward wins in both primaries Tuesday in Arkansas and Kentucky, but suffered losses of about 40 percent of the vote in each contest against token opposition.

Over four in 10 Democratic voters in Kentucky's primary on Tuesday chose the "uncommitted" option versus President Barack Obama, who won the state's primary.

And perennial candidate John Wolfe, Jr. took just about 40 percent of the primary vote versus Obama in Arkansas, according to early returns tabulated by the Associated Press. (Wolfe won't be awarded any delegates, either.)

The president's performance in both contests carries no substantive importance; Obama has already scored the necessary delegates in previous caucuses and primaries to be re-nominated by Democrats, and he wasn't expected to win either Arkansas or Kentucky in the general election versus Mitt Romney.

But the primaries carry a degree of symbolic weight, if only to fuel Republicans' gawking about how an incumbent president could fare so poorly in primaries despite facing no meaningful opponent.

It was the Klan loving, illiterate, backwoods, snake handling, shotgun toting, bootlegging, Bible thumping, toothless, inbred residents (leftist caricature) of those states that are not enlightened enough to understand the awesomeness of The One!

Those illiterate backwoods states that beat the pants off the elite and socialist states in education test scores. The tables have turned.

Awesome! They must teach things besides multiculturalism, tolerance, and the homosexual agenda: you know, things like math, english, science and history. Imagine that in a public school!

Those crazy bible-thumping, gun-toting folks ;)

I got a teaching certificate in TX and a credential in CA - and I kid you not, the vast majority of the teacher 'education' classes were on exactly what you stated. Very little on HOW to teach. It was disgusting.

They have grown bitter, clinging to guns and religion, with a natural antipathy toward anyone different from them. I love it when his own words come back to bite him! I have known Christian conservative teachers who left the public school system because of the limitations of political correctness. Schools have become leftist indoctrination centers. I graduated in 1977, and feel like I got a fairly decent public school education. We actually studied American history and learned how to write coherent sentences, as opposed to being prepared for a degree in African Dance or Womyn’s Studies. I remember standing tall every morning, reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, singing Christian carols in Music class, and developing the worldview that America is the greatest nation ever. Sadly, the plague of liberalism has put an end to all of that!
