Reading, PA is, I’m sure, worse than the murder/shooting rate of your hometown. Stay safe.
We left Connecticut and the New Haven suburbs a dozen years ago. Now I live in verrrry rural NW Illinois. The only threats out here are pheasants and herds of deer runniing across our property. State politicians are just as corrupt as in New Haven and in Connecticut and maybe then some although locally they are mere aspiring amateurs. I am not familiar with Reading, PA, but I have heard that New Haven is one of the top five most violent cities in the US. I am a bit skeptical of that claim but New Haven is high on the list.
