Santorum endorses Ted Cruz in Texas Senate race
ABC News ^ | May 24, 2012 | Rachel Rose Hartman

Texas Senate candidate Ted Cruz on Thursday gained yet another high-profile endorsement, this time from Rick Santorum.

"Ted Cruz is spellbinding, a tremendous orator and principled," Santorum said on Glenn Beck's radio show Thursday morning, according to Santorum's staff. "We need people who can motivate and lead … Ted has that capability."

Santorum reportedly said Cruz, a former state solicitor general, is a "good, conservative vote" and can "engage" beyond taxes and spending.

Santorum repeated much of the same praise during an appearance on Dallas radio station WBAP, telling host Ben Ferguson that he's known Cruz for 5 or 6 years and regards him as a "dynamic individual" who can act as a strong advocate in the Senate.

I voted early, too—and proudly marked Ted Cruz’s box for US Senator!

I hope Cruz gets the nod in Texas next Tuesday (or at least forces a runoff, and Greg Sowards in New Mexico the following Tuesday.

There was a news item on local TV about early voting in the county. Something like 2700 Republicans have voted, while 257 have voted in the Democrat primary.

It’s a good thing.

Statewide early voting appears to be down based upon articles I’ve seen. The total in the top 15 counties are running less than 5% both in person/mail as opposed to close to 15% in 2008. I think the lack of a strong presidential primary in either party is influncing the turnout. JMO.

Top 15;

Our family all voted last week and all voted for Cruz. I, too, did not vote for Romney.

Will be interesting to see the results of our primary election. Pete Olson is running for re-election as our Congressman. His campaign literature promises all kinds of wonderful things if he is re-elected. I asked him why they hadn’t taken care of business during the last two years since we have had a Republican majority in the House. Still waiting for answer! In the meantime I voted for his opponent, Barbara Carlson, a good conservative opponent. Doubt that she will win but maybe enough people will vote for her that Pete will get the message.

Well, I suppose that Santorum is sort of a Huckabee equalizer: social conservative Christians with an tendency toward government solutions. I think Cruz still has the Palin trump card though.

I enthusiastically voted for Cruz earlier today.

We Conservatives are a small voting block, but since Romney is probably going to lose in a very close election, we are an ESSENTIAL voting block to the RNC.

If the RNC wants to win the 2012 National Presidential and Congressional Election, they must have our full support.

We impressed the RNC with our 2010 efforts, but the RNC has done NOTHING to put the values of our 89 Warriors into effect.

We now hold the balance of power, IF WE INSIST ON AN OPEN CONVENTION.

Without an Open Convention the GOP-E will choose weak Candidate Romney to lose to Obama, just like they did with lame-brain McCain in 2008.

If the RNC overrules their own Primary Rules, then there is the POSSIBILITY that the Delegates will choose a stellar Conservative Dark Horse that we can promote with vigor to topple Dictator (in his own mind) Obama.

Ponder these ideas, chat with others, and let’s visit again on this unique opportunity to not only beat Obama, but slaughter Obama AND his Marxist ideas in a massive, landslide, Republican election.

Even on the VERY slim chance that Romney squeaks by Obama in November, the Federal problems we have today will be worse in 4 years with Romney as POTUS.

If the RNC wants to win this election, they need us. Let us bring that fact to their attention by a vigorous, grass-roots Campaign for an OPEN Convention.

What say all of you?

Voted yesterday:
President - Uncommitted
Senator - Cruz

Aggravated me that I had to declare as republican or democrat before I could vote. Nothing for independent or conservative.

Cruz has the momentum, and he is starting to get the BIG $$. If he can force a run-off..he’ll win it going away..

Cruz’s opponent is spending untold $ on negative ads. They are everywhere and I find them disgusting.

I voted for Cruz.

Sent him a few $ too.

Small??

Sorry Romney will get the win. Am I sad, yes but read my tagline...we need to help DEFEAT Barry!! Voting AGAINST Romney will not hurt the GOP, it'll HURT our FREEDOMS.

Dictator (in his own mind) Obama.

he is... and if CONSERVATIVES (especially SOCIAL) stay home...he might become a DICTATOR for life. Think about what would happen if DICTATOR BARRY get re-elected...

3 new SCOTUS judges... (can you say MARXIST JUDGES?) If you think Sotomeyer is bad, think about if you get someone to the left of her??? The SCOTUS judges are for life...so it won't be just 4 years... it'll be there for many years AFTER Zero left (by election or death).

Even on the VERY slim chance that Romney squeaks by Obama in November, the Federal problems we have today will be worse in 4 years with Romney as POTUS.

Someone said that most FR members wouldn't ELECT Reagan if they knew his record as CA's Governor. reagan wasn't that CONSERVATIVE as CA's governor, but we are still trying to find one. Romney is the only candidate who can win (besides Obama) any other votes will help ZERO become DICTATOR for life!!

If the RNC wants to win this election, they need us. Let us bring that fact to their attention by a vigorous, grass-roots Campaign for an OPEN Convention.

It is too late...Romney got it wrapped up.

What say all of you?

Read my tagline -- if you want to vote third party -- go right ahead -- you are a closet ZERO SUPPORTER!!

Aggrivated me that they did not check my ID.

I had my voters reg. card, but heck, I could have stolen it from a mailbox if I were a crook and they’d just let me vote w/o knowing I am the guy listed on the card.

In many ways, the Lt. Gov. is more powerful than the Governor.

Under Perry and Dewhurst’s leadership:
We still have in state tuition's for kids of illegals.

Still have porous borders.

Still have sanctuary cities throughout Texas.

Still have ridiculously high property taxes on homeowners.

Still moving forward with the insane network of Texas toll roads.

I'll give credit where credit is due however. We have the best economy of the states and we are pro-buisness in our policies. One such is tort reform.

Pete Olson is also my rep.

I have been very disappointed in Pete.

He is very weak, timid.

Like the kid that sits in the back of the class with his head down afraid he will get called upon.

For a naval aviator he sure hasn't got much fight.

I voted for Barbara also.
